DESCRIPTION:In response to COVID-19 and recommendations by the CDC of social distancing\, Hunt’s Photo Education is presenting our new series of online classes! (Hey! We wanted to do it anyway\, this just sped up the process!) These courses will be shorter (about 1 hour)\, online versions of many classes that we currently offer\, plus a few new ones\, and include Q&A at the end.\nBelow the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nYou’ve taken a fantastic image and you understand the basics of editing in Adobe Lightroom. So what’s the problem? Have we made it good enough? Have we made the right steps along the way? How can we make it better? This class is all about editing one of your images.\nLeading up to this class\, we will ask for 2-3 images (RAW\, if possible) from you in order to edit ONE of them in class. We will do this with each of our 6-8 attendees and in the end\, we will have discussed a whole slew of topics that will (hopefully) make you a better editor!\nWe are constantly asked: Who should take this class? What if you’re new to Lightroom? Yes- because you’ll see the possibilities in the program! What if you don’t use Lightroom? Sure! We will be using Lightroom\, but the concepts are very similar throughout other similar programs. What if you just use a cell phone or shoot only in JPEG? I don’t see why not! Just because you shoot in JPEG or with a cell phone doesn’t mean you can’t edit your photos. This is a great all-encompassing class\, working out challenges for all levels!\nThis is a class that you can take as many times as you’d like. Since you’re constantly working with new images\, you’re always working out new challenges! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that you have signed up. About 48 hours prior to the class time\, we will send out an email with the weblink for you to follow as well as information on how to access the class online. (It’s pretty easy\, but we’ll walk you through it in a quick online video!)\nAt that time\, we will also send you a link to upload 2-3 images. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. DESCRIPTION:Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nThere is so much to think about in photography– from settings and composition to editing and post processing and so much more– that it can be easy to get lost within your images. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a chance to discuss one of your images in a review and critique session\, where we will discuss many of these topics and how they work in your image. Our Hunt’s Photo Education Team firmly believes that presenting personal work and observing peer work is paramount to the growth and development of your photographic vision. \nThis Week’s Topic\nFor this week’s topic\, all attendees will submit an Unedited RAW Portrait. There are a number of moving parts to portraits\, from lighting to backgrounds\, subject posing to facial expression\, camera angle and choice of lens\, not to mention camera settings! And so often when we take portraits\, we tell ourselves\, “Don’t worry- we’ll fix it in post!”\nWell\, this image review/critique will specifically look at portraits unedited\, straight out of the camera. We will be looking at all of the above moving parts\, and we’ll also discuss what options we have moving forward with these images\, included a discussion on what should be done in editing and what can be done in editing. For this critique\, all we will need is the original RAW image without any edits.\nWe can look at these images in either Lightroom\, Capture One\, or Adobe Photoshop. Since our discussion on editing is secondary\, there is not limitation to what program you use.\nWe encourage photographers of all levels to consider this course\, as it is as valuable to seasoned professional as it is to a beginner! Join us for this exciting opportunity to share your photographic work with the community! \nThis class will be a small group of up to 10-15 attendees. Upon registering\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a link in order to upload images to us for the image review. We will also send out a reminder email a few days prior. Make sure to leave yourself enough time to upload your photo! \nRegarding uploading of images\nUnlike many of our critiques where we ask for a DNG file\, for this class\, we only need a RAW file submitted.  \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nOur course layout is simple. This course will last about 2 hours\, depending on quantity of attendees. During that time\, all attendees will be muted. When we critique your image\, we will unmute you\, so please have a working microphone on your computer/tablet.\nDuring the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Question box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video. \nCan’t attend the class? \nIf you can’t attend the class but still want to download the video\, no problem: Just sign up for the class!
