SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Emerging Series- Sunrise at Nubble Light
DESCRIPTION:This Walk is part of our Emerging Series\, as we cautiously begin to emerge from the COVID-19 lockdown. For this series of walks\, we have chosen areas that are more spread out and with less foot traffic. We will also be limiting our group size to a maximum of 8 attendees with one instructor. After the course description (but before registration) will be guidelines for these walks. Please make sure to read them prior to registering. \nWalk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education on a sunrise/morning walk at Nubble Light and York Beach. On the walk\, we will discuss elements of sunrise and early morning photography\, including proper exposure\, image composition\, HDR\, Black & White Photography and more. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nNubble Light is a premiere destination for photographers. The Lighthouse is a simple beauty to behold\, with solid and simple colors that photograph well\, but under different lighting conditions can create vibrant\, striking images. We will photograph Nubble Light in this very light at sunrise\, then continue along to nearby York Beach. Both locations offer a wonderful history and tradition that lend well to storytelling through photography. \nEmerging Series- A Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19\nAs the COVID lockdown ends and social restrictions begin to ease\, we have decided to start offering our popular Hunt’s Photo Walks again.\nHunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee\, student\, and customer\, first and foremost. We also are committed to the best possible learning experience. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Developing Technique- The North End at Night
DESCRIPTION:Walk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a Photo Workshop involving the historic North End of Boston. We will have a discussion and photo walk specifically about shooting in lower light with an emphasis on night photography. This will include assistance with exposure\, composition\, focusing\, use of tripods\, and a myriad of other settings and concepts. \nBoston is often referred to as a “city of neighborhoods”. One of the city’s most notable neighborhoods\, and its oldest\, is the North End. Beginning in the 1600s this is where immigrants to the New World entered the city for the first time\, which made the North End a busy\, vibrant center of activity. Today\, this tightly knit area is known as “Little Italy” given the prominent Italian-American influence and population found here. Quaint eateries\, fine restaurants\, and historic locations are characteristics that make the North End one of Boston’s premier destinations. \nThis workshop is also an excellent chance to work on street photography. During the first few hours\, our light will start to change\, giving us some excellent opportunities at casual portraits and street scenes. As we move into more of the nighttime light\, we will shift to long exposures. Join us for this very diverse photo walk! \nA Guideline for Photo Walks and Workshops during the era of COVID-19\nAs the COVID lockdown ends and social restrictions begin to ease\, we have decided to start offering our popular Hunt’s Photo Walks again.\nHunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee\, student\, and customer\, first and foremost. SUMMARY:Online: Multi-Session Series- Speedlights 101 and Beyond!
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a new Multi-Session Series session. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have 10-15 attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery! \nSpeedlights 101 and Beyond!\nThis class is all about two things: Learning how to use the basics of your flash on the camera and how (and why) to take the flash off the camera.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson as we discuss how to take pictures using a speedlight\, and make them look great\, no matter what the situation. We will discuss photographing people\, but also photographing product and flashes work. We’ll talk all about the basics\, including modes\, settings\, and more!\nWhether you own a flash and have no idea how to use it\, you want to take great photos at functions and family events that are in low light\, or you just want to learn how to add a flash into your repertoire\, this course is for you! \nIn week one\, we will look at the basic camera and flash settings when using the flash on the camera\, including light positioning. In week two\, we will get a bit more creative by adding in diffusion and reflectors. We will also work to refine flash positioning and camera settings to maximize efficiency. In week three\, we will demonstrate taking the flash off-camera and show some of the benefits of doing that. In week four\, we will tie together the whole process\, including how to properly edit photos. \nEach week we will have a general presentation and discussion about a topic and will present an assignment. You can submit for the assignment or just watch our weekly critiques of others–it’s up to you! We will also supplement the class with additional instructional videos. \nYou don’t need to know the inner workings of your flash to take this class! Photographers of all levels should apply\, even those at a basic level\, as we will cascade the learning process. You should have a speedlight\, aka a flash that is detachable from your camera. Flash triggers can be helpful. A reflector may also be helpful. Note: This is not a class about the on-board flash on your camera. In general\, we never recommend using the on-board flash (unless you absolutely have to). \nPhotographers should have an understanding of their camera and general exposure before taking this class. \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure! During each class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Question box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video. \nNo online classes should be shared and cannot be shared in a public environment\, including with camera clubs\nThe online content is the copyright of Hunt’s Photo Education and/or the Instructor. Please support our education team and instructors by not sharing this material! We appreciate your support\, and it’s thanks to that support that we are able to continue producing content! \n \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.
