We will be driving and walking/hiking through winter terrain. \n   \n  \nThe forests and woodlands around Millinocket Maine are a vast and rugged region in any season\, but especially so in winter. Snow\, ice\, and wind sculpt the landscape into dramatic scenes waiting to be seen and discovered. Winter is a challenging season for photography\, but the image rewards can be uniquely beautiful for every hearty photographer. Just outside of Millinocket\, The Golden Road serves as an unpaved highway into the heart of some very remote areas. Each day we will leave the comfort of our private\, cozy cabins and explore areas along the Golden Road for inspiring views of Mount Kathadin\, forests\, wilderness ponds\, the Penobscot River\, and the always present chance of encountering a wide array of wildlife. \nWe will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects and there will be an online image review January 16th in the evening. \nSkill Sets:  All Levels of Photographers are Welcome\nPhysical Activity: Medium. We will experience longer days as well as walking/scrambling over rocky terrain. DESCRIPTION:Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nClass description\nIntimate landscapes invite us to take a closer look and to connect with nature.  Explore ways to train your eye and challenge your creativity using composition\, light and design elements that will help you create intimate & original images that that reflect your artistic vision. \nAbout Donna: Donna Eaton is a full-time professional photographer & educator. She is a native of North Carolina and just recently relocated back to North Carolina with her husband and cats after spending the last 10 years in the upstate of South Carolina.  She spent eleven years as the staff photographer for a raptor rehabilitation and education center before venturing out on her own as a professional photographer in 2008.  \nDonna is known for her creative vision and artistic images and sharing her heart through her camera. She believes that photography is a reflection of who we are and our life experiences. She is constantly searching for the details\, shapes\, textures\, and colors of her subjects to express her creativity. Donna loves teaching and sharing her knowledge with her students and enjoys watching them grow as photographers. \nDonna conducts many photography workshops and is a sought out featured speaker. She has been a leader for NANPA Regional Events\, and she has been an instructor at John C. Campbell Folk School and the Bryan Peterson School of Photography (www.bpsop.com). Her work has been featured in numerous publications and has received many awards and honors. She is represented by Getty Images. Memberships include North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and Carolinas’ Nature Photographers Association (CNPA). \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. The majority of the class–90 minutes to 2 hours– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A.
