The Stevens-Coolidge Place is a unique estate in North Andover that benefits from a beautiful indoor space\, but is also quite famous for beautifully maintained grounds that include a rose garden\, greenhouse\, and more. This spring\, Stevens-Coolidge planted over 170\,000 bulbs throughout their grounds\, and we will have an exclusive opportunity to photograph them prior to their opening later that week! This will be a very unique opportunity\, with the ability to capture not only the macro effects of these flowers\, but also the wide expanse.\nHunt’s Photo Education is extremely happy to be working in cooperation with the Stevens-Coolidge Place! More information on the Stevens-Coolidge Place and its history can be found here. \nA Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19\nHunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee\, student\, and customer\, first and foremost. DESCRIPTION:Recommended prerequisite: This class is solely on editing and processing your images in Lightroom. We recommend having understanding of how file organization in Lightroom works\, so we recommend our online File Management in Lightroom course prior to taking this class.  \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have limited attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery! \nEditing in Adobe Lightroom\nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nIn week one\, we’ll talk about file types and adjustment ranges using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. In week two\, we’ll dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. Finally\, in week three\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including Sharpening\, HDR\, Pano stitching and more.\nEach week\, we will give an assignment and students will upload their edited photos prior to the next class. DESCRIPTION:Presentation: Wednesday April 21st\, 7-8pm • Online! \nPrinted Image Review: Tuesday May 4th\, 7-9pm • Online! \nRecommended prerequisite: \nInstructor: Paul Nelson \nClass Size: Limited to 10 attendees \nBelow the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run.\nAbout The Printed Vision Series\nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nEach Printed Vision topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic and elaborate on editing with examples. This will include discussion of exposure\, dynamic range and color\, but also deeper points\, such as noise reduction\, image sharpening and grain. In between sessions 1 and 2\, attendees will independently process 1-2 images and submit them to the instructor for printing. We will print one of the two images leading into the second session and discuss some of the challenges we face in printing them.\nYou do not need to produce a new image for this class and can go into your archives to print\, but you are welcome to go out into the field and create something new based on the topic! \nThis Month’s Printed Vision Session: Sustainable Printing with Hahnemuhle\nOne of the newer photographic lines of paper on the market is Hahnemuhle’s Natural Line\, including Bamboo\, Agave\, and Hemp. These papers are made from a majority of these materials which require minimal maintenance\, grow quickly and don’t need any pesticides\, and use less water. They are thus more sustainable than the majority of papers on the market and provide a unique look at the future of digital printing.\nIn this session\, we will discuss these papers\, their advantages\, and what images work best on them. Our instructional online presentation will be held on April 21st (the day before Earth Day!) from 7-8pm and we will reconvene for our Printed Image Review on Tuesday May 4th from 7-9pm. You will have that time period in between to photograph and/or edit your images. In the end\, you will receive a 13×19″ print on fine art paper.
