To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nEach Printed Vision topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic and elaborate on editing with examples. This will include discussion of exposure\, dynamic range and color\, but also deeper points\, such as noise reduction\, image sharpening and grain. In between sessions 1 and 2\, attendees will independently process 1-2 images and submit them to the instructor for printing. We will print one of the two images leading into the second session and discuss some of the challenges we face in printing them.\nYou do not need to produce a new image for this class and can go into your archives to print\, but you are welcome to go out into the field and create something new based on the topic! \nThis Month’s Printed Vision Session: Sustainable Printing with Hahnemuhle\nOne of the newer photographic lines of paper on the market is Hahnemuhle’s Natural Line\, including Bamboo\, Agave\, and Hemp. These papers are made from a majority of these materials which require minimal maintenance\, grow quickly and don’t need any pesticides\, and use less water. They are thus more sustainable than the majority of papers on the market and provide a unique look at the future of digital printing.\nIn this session\, we will discuss these papers\, their advantages\, and what images work best on them. Our instructional online presentation will be held on April 21st (the day before Earth Day!) from 7-8pm and we will reconvene for our Printed Image Review on Tuesday May 4th from 7-9pm. You will have that time period in between to photograph and/or edit your images. In the end\, you will receive a 13×19″ print on fine art paper.
