SUMMARY:Capture to Print: Rockport Harbor
DESCRIPTION:Walk: Saturday October 9th\, 8-11am • Rockport\, MA \nPrinted Image Review: Thursday October 14th\, 6-8pm • Online! or In-Person in Melrose\, MA \nRecommended prerequisite: Basic knowledge of your camera; tripod; interest in editing and printing \nAll Skill Levels Welcome \nInstructors: Emily Hojnowski & Paul Nelson \nGroup Size: Limited to 12 attendees \nAbout Capture to Print Workshops\nPrinting your photos will make you a better photographer. The first step to creating a great print is by understanding how to create a great photograph in the field.\nCapture-To-Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography\, but also editing and printing! Half photo workshop\, half editing and printing\, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field\, how to effectively process photos\, and why printing is a necessity. \nAbout this workshop\nRockport is a premiere destination for photographers. The town is an eclectic mix of unique storefronts\, a beautiful harbor\, boats\, and a rich fishing tradition that offers a wide variety of photographic subjects. The town is both vibrant and weathered. Rockport is also one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a great variety to photograph in Rockport\, from architecture to scenery\, from portraits to macro\, in Color and in Black & White. We will also emphasize all of the elements to consider to obtain a truly amazing print in the end! \nAfter the workshop\, attendees will edit their photos on their own and upload 2-3 images to the instructors for review. We will review those edits\, individually discuss your editing choices and make suggestions for additional edits\, then print the images as 12×18″ on fine art paper. We will conclude the workshop the following week with a printed image review. We will hold the review in our Melrose store\, but if you cannot attend this\, you will also be able to watch it online. (The session will also be recorded if you cannot make it to the online session live.) \nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating a print\, from capture to edit to print. The process of printing is integral to developing one’s photographic vision. \nReceiving Your Print\nAfter the class\, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations. \nRegister here\n***Having trouble registering? The seaport\, home to many restored buildings and wooden boats\, is a living history museum that depicts life in a 19th century fishing village. The history at this location will give an excellent opportunity to hone in on your photographic skills.\nOn this workshop\, we will have a specific theme\, which we will discuss at the outset of the walk. After the workshop\, attendees will have the opportunity to review their images and make some edits. We will then reconvene online with an image review where we will discuss many of the factors that we discussed on the walk portion of the workshop. This workshop is a great way to develop your vision while also experiencing an incredible historic era.\nJoin us for a great experience! \nPlease note: Any photographs taken cannot have commercial use without written consent from Mystic Seaport. \nUpdated COVID-19 Policies for outdoor Hunt’s Photo Walks and Workshops\nHunt’s Photo Education is aligning with CDC and state guidelines and will no longer require face masks for our outdoor Photo Walks. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask\, please feel free to do so. We also recommend bringing a mask\, just in case. We also ask that you maintain social distance of 6 feet from one another.\nHunt’s Photo Education will still adhere to our 8 person attendee maximum per Photo Walk with a single instructor (unless otherwise noted).\nAs always\, if you are sick or feeling unwell\, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a credit towards a future walk. \nRegister here\n***Having trouble registering? You can also register by
