Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nFor the holiday season\, Olde Sturbridge Village will be featuring their annual Christmas by Candlelight. During this time\, the village is decorated and the people of Sturbridge recreate many of winter traditions\, not just from the holiday season. This is a unique and different look to Olde Sturbridge Village\, excellent for both those who have and have not been previously.\nWe will also hold an introductory presentation leading up to the walk\, which will include images from Sturbridge Village’s Christmas by Candlelight\, discussing some of the settings\, what to bring\, and things to look for while at Sturbridge. If you cannot attend\, we will send out the recording the following day. \nPlease note: The cost of your ticket INCLUDES the ticket entrance to Sturbridge Village. On these walks\, we will discuss the many aspects that go into photographing in low-light\, especially when encountering holiday lights\, including Image Composition\, Long Exposures\, Architectural Photography and many additional aspects of photographing holiday lights. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend!\nEffectively photographing holiday lights at night can be a challenge. However\, with proper exposure and balance of composition\, you have the ability to capture great detail and color through your lenses. Boston Common and the Gardens provide an excellent opportunity to to test out these skills. The Common gets decked out in holiday lights every year\, and combined with the natural beauty of the landscape\, we have a great chance for beautiful nightscapes!
