Following in the footsteps of Ansel Adams\, he mostly photographed people (children\, portraits\, weddings\, seniors\, etc.)\, which paid the bills. Over time\, he became interested in photographing wildlife and landscapes\, mostly for personal pleasure. In 1999\, he was asked to become a “Stringer” for Canon USA and has been in that position since then. It has led Robert towards teaching\, leading workshops and sharing his life-long passion with others. He always looks forward to sharing his knowledge of photography with those who are anxious to learn. \nJeff Swinger boasts nearly 30 years of professional experience built upon his passion for telling stories through images. He honed his skills over 16 years with The Cincinnati Enquirer covering news and sports and has covered four Olympic Games for USA Today Sports. Additionally\, Jeff works as an educational contributor and freelance Pro Market Representative for Canon USA and travels domestically and internationally conducting photo tours and workshops. Jeff lives with his family in Park City\, Utah.

Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a week-long photography program aimed at strengthening their interest\, improving their photography\, and getting them truly excited about being the artist\, the creator\, and the family photographer! \nOver the course of five days\, we will cover a wide range of topics\, from composition & perspective to depth of field & movement. Every day we’ll have a brief introduction to a topic followed by a fun practical exercise. Our goal is to get your photographers outside and taking pictures as much as possible! (Inside on snowy and cold days\, too.) At the end of the day\, we’ll look back on the images to see what we liked about them. And at the end of the week\, we’ll print and display images from all of our students in our Hunt’s Photo Gallery for all to see. \nOur goal in this program is to have a lot of fun and not bog students down with too much technical stuff. However\, we will also scaffold instruction\, so if an attendee wants to know more about the technical aspects\, they still can! \nStudents will be required to have some kind of camera. This can be a cell phone\, a point and shoot camera\, or a DSLR/mirrorless camera. Pretty much any digital camera that works is acceptable! \nThis will be a fun week with experienced instruction. We look forward to seeing you there! \n*A few notes about our recommended age requirements*\nOur age requirement is very general. A certain maturity level is helpful. Younger children with interest and a level of responsibility are welcome to attend. As we mention\, we will scaffold instruction for any age range.\nAll parents/guardians will need to sign off on a permission to attend this course upon signup. Our classes will be held in our Hunt’s Photo\, Melrose store and classroom\, and surrounding outdoor areas\, including Pine Banks Park. We assure you that your student will be in a safe and fun environment. If you have any questions\, please feel free to contact us at classes@huntsphoto.com. \nPlease Note: A Slight Change to COVID-19 Policies on Masks and Social Distancing\nUntil further notice\, we will be requiring masks for our indoor classes. We also ask that you socially distance whenever possible.\nAs always\, if you are sick or feeling unwell\, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a credit towards a future class. \nRegister here\nPlease make sure to register information under the student’s name.\n***Having trouble registering? You can also register by clicking here! \n \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up. \nWhat to bring\n•Students will be required to have some kind of camera. This can be a cell phone\, a point and shoot camera\, or a DSLR/mirrorless camera. Pretty much any camera that works is acceptable!\n•Please make sure whatever camera they bring has a fully charged battery and a memory card\, if necessary.\n•We encourage bringing a snack and water\, but not a full lunch\, as we will be ending by noon\n•As always\, have them bring their enthusiasm and creative thoughts!

SUMMARY:Video Basics- Hunt's Photo\, Providence
DESCRIPTION:Hunt’s Photo\, Providence \nRecommended prerequisite: Prior knowledge of photography and ownership of a camera with interchangeable lenses and video functionality. \nInstructor: Video Specialist Nick Froment \nClass Size: Up to 10 attendees \nCourse Description\nPhotographers everywhere love that digital cameras have the capability of creating “videos”. But what important settings are there? How can I take full advantage of my camera that has 4K 60fps\, and what am I even saying when I say those words??? I just want to make a great video- what do I need to know?! \nWell\, fret no more! Video for Photographers is geared for…primarily photographers that want to use their camera for occasional videos! This is the class that is going to give you insight into the basic settings and why to set them; how to take full advantage of the best qualities of your camera\, and leaves a lot of the higher-end technical stuff out of the picture. \nIn this jam-packed course\, we’ll cover basic camera settings (some of which you’re used to from still photography); basic menu settings such as frame rates\, resolution\, and codecs; framing\, composition\, and cinematography basics. The goal of this course is to send you on your way much more confident about how to set up your next video. \nA clear difference: This class is not necessarily geared toward someone that is looking to branch into filmmaking (though it couldn’t hurt). This class is geared towards the photographer that wants to make casual videos. If you are a still photographer looking to branch into video to enhance your portfolio\, our Intro to Filmmaking class is a more advanced and challenging class that will dig deeper into many of these concepts. But hey\, you can always take both classes! \nThese guidelines will stay in place until further notice. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any questions\, feel free to contact us at classes@huntsphoto.com. \nRegister here\n***Having trouble registering? You can also register by clicking here!\n \nIf you are attending this class\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. This email will detail any of those minor changes.\nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up. \nWhat to Bring\n•Make sure to bring your camera and any standard lens\n•A pen and a notebook are helpful\n•As always\, bring your enthusiasm and creative thoughts!

Have you had your camera for 6 months\, a year or more and want to take better pictures? Are you putting your camera away because you just don’t see the difference between your expensive camera and your smart phone?\n\nLearn to fully utilize your cameras potentials! Harness your creative power with photography!\n\nThis is one of the first classes to consider when you’re getting started with your Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. We recommend taking this class prior to Digital Photography Basics 2\, which is the next logical step!\n\nJoin us to start learning about Digital Photography!\n\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\n\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n\n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video.\n\nCan’t attend the class? \nIf you can’t attend the class but still want to download the video\, no problem: Just sign up for the class! You don’t need to attend and we will send the video and PDF link the next day!\n\nWant to get this class after it’s been run?\nIf you want to purchase this or any other of the classes we have done\, you can certainly do so.
