Lighting can be intimidating\, whether using a speedlight on camera (or off) or a studio strobe. Our goal is to get each attendee more comfortable with the basics of lighting\, demonstrate how and why to set up lights in certain ways\, and how to create stunning portraits with these lights. \nIn the workshop\, we will create three basic setups with models at each location: Creative lighting portraits; corporate head shots; and full-length portraits. We will utilize studio strobes\, speedlights\, and constant lighting in order to get you comfortable with using all three. \nMost importantly\, attendees will be guiding the setup (and take down) of all the gear. This allows for more hands-on working with everything involved with studio lighting\, from the light to the light stand to the background.\nAttendees are encouraged to bring their own gear\, but we will begin with gear that anyone can use\, including: \n-Studio Strobes\n-Speedlights\n-LED Lighting\n-Radio Triggers\n-Lightmeters \nLayout of the day: \n9am- Introductions and Q&A\n9:30am- Begin creating setups\n10:30am- Demoing of setups (during this time\, we will photograph each other- Be Prepared!)\n11:30am- Brief Break\n12-4pm- Photographing with models. We also ask that you socially distance whenever possible.\nAs always\, if you are sick or feeling unwell\, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a credit towards a future class. \nRegister here\nPlease note that we will be holding our Posing for Portraits the following day on Sunday\, January 16th. If you sign up for both workshops\, you will receive an additional $50 off of the total! Use promo code “Bootcamp” prior to signing up for Posing for Portraits! \n***Having trouble registering? Those lenses are recommended\n•You may choose a wider lens\, such as a 35mm or 50mm\, but be aware they will include more of the background\n•You are welcome to bring your own flash and light modifier (soft box\, etc).
