Join Don Toothaker and special guest instructor Mark Buckler as they explore this exciting and dynamic region for the wide array of subjects that if offers.  Mark has called this area home for the past 15 years and has photographed it extensively.   This photography workshop will feature opportunities to photograph breathtaking sunrises and sunsets\, wild horses on the beach\, lighthouses\, wildlife such as black bears and shore birds\, the night sky\, and more.  The photography sessions in the field will also be supplemented with some classroom instruction and image reviews. \nWe will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects as well as incorporating classroom instruction\, critiques\, and photographic assignments each day.\nWhat’s included:\n•Daily excursions in and around the Outer Banks of North Carolina\n•All Transportation on location\n•In-field instruction at each location\n•Image Discussion and Review \nWhat’s not included:\n•Transportation to and from North Carolina (nearest airport is ORF– Norfolk\, VA–which is about 90 minutes from our location.) We will be making a courtesy bulk pickup of attendees at the airport at noon.  If you choose to arrive early or stay late\, you will need to rent a vehicle.\n•Cost of food\n•Cost of hotel (Ramada Plaza Nags Head\, 1701 S. Virginia Dare Tr\, Kill Devil Hills\, NC\, 252-441-2151) \nSkill Sets:  All Levels of Photographers are Welcome\nPhysical Activity:  Medium to High.  We will have long days with Sunrises and sunsets as well as a lot of walking. \nIn this workshop we will cover:\nExposure\nComposition\nMetering\nUse of Lenses\nSubject Development\nCreative Thinking\nShooting in Low Light\nLong Exposures\nUse of Filters (polarizers and ND)\nImage Processing\nImage Review\nImage Critiquing \nRecommended gear:\nTripod\nWide Angle Lenses\nNeutral Density Filters (not essential)\nTelephoto Lenses (200mm will work for horses\, 500-600mm for bears and birds)\nShoes that you don’t mind getting wet or sandy\nWide Angle Lens with aperture of 2.8 or larger (for night photography) \nTravel information\nWe recommend flying into Norfolk\, VA (ORF).
