There are so many pieces to the puzzle of photography\, some of which use confusing terminology. And while we also offer other wonderful Beginner Photography classes to get you started\, nothing is truly the same as hands-on in-the-field! It’s important to fully understand the “why” and “how” of your camera settings. \nIn this outdoor\, hands-on class\, you’ll learn all about the basics of photography. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about your camera in a fun and safe environment! Join us to strengthen your photographic knowledge! \nIn this session of Beginner Photography in the Field…\n…we will be going to the Zakim Bridge from Cambridge to Boston. Boston and Cambridge are vibrant\, colorful cities after dark. Despite the limitations of darkness there is still great detail and color to be captured through your lenses. Our walk will take us along the Charles River to the Zakim Bridge. During this session of Beginner Photography in the Field\, you will learn about photography in the field at the Zakim Bridge and surrounding areas during blue hour\, sunset\, and civil twilight. This is a classic location and a terrific chance to learn about long-exposures. If you’re a beginner and you also want to learn about how to shoot in low-light and night situations\, this is a great opportunity! (Honestly\, it’s really a great opportunity for ANYONE that’s a beginner!) Bring your camera and your enthusiasm to learn all about photography in a hands-on\, real-life environment!\nAnd yes\, you’ll end up with images in the end like those you see here. \nUpdated COVID-19 Policies for outdoor Hunt’s Photo Walks and Workshops\nHunt’s Photo Education is aligning with CDC and state guidelines and will no longer require face masks for our outdoor Photo Walks. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask\, please feel free to do so. We also recommend bringing a mask\, just in case.
