There are so many pieces to the puzzle of photography\, some of which use confusing terminology. And while we also offer other wonderful Beginner Photography classes to get you started\, nothing is truly the same as hands-on in-the-field! It’s important to fully understand the “why” and “how” of your camera settings. \nIn this outdoor\, hands-on class\, you’ll learn all about the basics of photography. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about your camera in a fun and safe environment! Join us to strengthen your photographic knowledge! \nIn this session of Beginner Photography in the Field…\n…we will be going to the Zakim Bridge from Cambridge to Boston. Boston and Cambridge are vibrant\, colorful cities after dark. Despite the limitations of darkness there is still great detail and color to be captured through your lenses. Our walk will take us along the Charles River to the Zakim Bridge. During this session of Beginner Photography in the Field\, you will learn about photography in the field at the Zakim Bridge and surrounding areas during blue hour\, sunset\, and civil twilight. This is a classic location and a terrific chance to learn about long-exposures. If you’re a beginner and you also want to learn about how to shoot in low-light and night situations\, this is a great opportunity! (Honestly\, it’s really a great opportunity for ANYONE that’s a beginner!) Bring your camera and your enthusiasm to learn all about photography in a hands-on\, real-life environment!\nAnd yes\, you’ll end up with images in the end like those you see here. \nUpdated COVID-19 Policies for outdoor Hunt’s Photo Walks and Workshops\nHunt’s Photo Education is aligning with CDC and state guidelines and will no longer require face masks for our outdoor Photo Walks. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask\, please feel free to do so. We also recommend bringing a mask\, just in case. We also ask that you maintain social distance of 6 feet from one another.\nHunt’s Photo Education will still adhere to our 8 person attendee maximum per Photo Walk with a single instructor (unless otherwise noted).\nAs always\, if you are sick or feeling unwell\, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a credit towards a future walk. \nThese guidelines will stay in place until further notice. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Are you putting your camera away because you just don’t see the difference between your expensive camera and your smart phone?\n\nLearn to fully utilize your cameras potentials! Harness your creative power with photography!\n\nThis is one of the first classes to consider when you’re getting started with your Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. We recommend taking this class prior to Digital Photography Basics 2\, which is the next logical step!\n\nJoin us to start learning about Digital Photography!\n\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\n\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n\n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video.\n\nCan’t attend the class? \nIf you can’t attend the class but still want to download the video\, no problem: Just sign up for the class! \nIn this session of Beginner Photography in the Field…\n…we will be going to Piers Park in East Boston. Piers Park was developed in the mid-1990s\, offering beautiful landscaping\, natural vegetation\, and stunning views of downtown Boston. During this session of Beginner Photography in the Field\, you will learn about photograph on the grounds of Piers Park and the Boston skyline during blue hour\, sunset\, and civil twilight. The variety here is excellent\, and the time frame is an excellent opportunity to learn about long-exposures. SUMMARY:Beginner Photography in the Field: Olde Sturbridge Village
DESCRIPTION:Featuring: Photographing in low light environments; environmental portraits \nRecommended prerequisite: \nWe recommend you take this class if you have a DSLR or mirrorless camera \n“Bridge” cameras are also acceptable \nAll Skill Levels Welcome \nInstructor: Emily Hojnowski \nClass Size: Maximum 8 attendees \nClass Description \nLearning about photography can be a real challenge. \nIn this session of Beginner Photography in the Field…\n…we will be at Olde Sturbridge Village\, a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. Bring your camera and your enthusiasm to learn all about photography in a hands-on\, real-life environment! \nPlease note: The cost of your ticket does not include entrance to Sturbridge Village. You can purchase tickets up to two weeks in advance here. \nRegister here\n***Having trouble registering? You can also register by
