DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our Macro & Tabletop Workshop\, Capture & Edit Edition! In this workshop\, we will combine the fun of photographing macro and tabletop setups with editing and processing of images.  \nToo often we feel that our photography comes to a halt during inclement weather. However\, there is ample opportunity to make use of our creativity while staying indoors. Many household items– cut flowers\, books\, antiques\, jewelry\, and glassware– all make for wonderful subjects while using natural window light. Every table in your house can become a landscape of opportunity with some imagination and creativity. \nWe will begin with a short presentation on macro photography\, how to use specific gear\, how to light\, and how to compose macro photographs. We will then spend the next portion of our day creating a variety of still life set ups and unique macro scenarios using a variety of lights and light modifiers. We will then transition to the processing of images\, working individually on your own personal laptops. We will finish with a brief critique of images.  \nWe recommend bringing a laptop with Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop installed for editing. \nThis workshop is recommended for anyone who wants to get more creative with their photography\, both in camera and in post-production! \nApproximate schedule for the day:\n10am- Introductions\, presentation on macro\, gear\, lighting\, settings\, etc\n11am- Photographing of macro setups\n2pm- Short lunch break; quick cleanup of macro setups (Attendees are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch and take a short break during this time) After lunch\, we will work on post-processing of images.\n4pm- Review & critique\n5pm- End of day \nPlease note: Depending on how many attendees we receive\, we may hold this workshop at a different nearby location with more space\, rather than in the store. DESCRIPTION:How do we edit an image to make the best print possible? Which images work for print and which do not? What paper should we print on? How should we edit for each paper? In this roundtable class\, we will work with your images\, discuss and process them\, and discuss the printing process. We ask attendees to bring in three images on a USB drive (RAW\, if possible) that they may want to print. We will review the images and choose one to edit in Adobe Lightroom and then send it to print.\nAttendees are also welcome to bring their laptop to work on the images during class for submission. We will gladly assist on any editing you would like to do.\nAttendees will leave with one print\, 12×18 in size (printed on 13×19 paper) and a bit more knowledge on the process of editing and printing\, not to mention the knowledge of how to take the photograph better in the field for next time.\nThis is a class that you can take as many times as you’d like. Since you’re constantly working with new images\, you’re always working out new challenges!\nIn the class\, we will have a variety of paper options to choose from\, including Moab Fine Art papers. DESCRIPTION:Printing your photos will make you a better photographer. The first step to creating a great print is by understanding how to create a great photograph in the field.\nCapture-To-Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography\, but also editing and printing!  Half photo workshop\, half editing and printing\, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field\, how to effectively process photos\, and why printing is a necessity.\nWe will begin at Marginal Way & Perkins Cove in Ogunquit\, Maine for sunrise. We will emphasize how to get the best results in the field for the best end result\, including focus\, exposure\, and more. At 9am\, we will break from shooting and make our way back to the classroom at our S. Portland location\, about 45 minutes away. We will reconvene at 10:30am. (Attendees are encouraged to get breakfast in the meantime.)\nWe will then transition from photographing to editing\, which will include discussion of certain techniques. Attendees are encouraged to bring their computers–laptops or all-in-ones are fine (iMacs are welcome)–in order to do their own editing. Attendees should have Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop on their computer or a comparable program. We will be available to help with the processing of images during this time. Shortly after noon\, we will view these edits\, critique\, and discuss them with the rest of the class while also creating 13×19″ prints.\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating a photograph. DESCRIPTION:For ages\, darkroom printing was an art form that was destined only for those that had a darkroom. Now they practically give digital printers away\, and what darkroom techniques were sequestered to your basement can now be duplicated in a corner office.\nBut Digital Printing\, while simple in concept\, has a myriad number of curiosities and questions associated with it. Among the issues printers run into are color correction\, proper exposure\, ability to utilize multiple papers\, understanding how to edit for print\, how to print in black and white\, and why and when to use certain tools. In this course\, we will answer these questions\, as well as refer back to some of the more basic elements of digital printing\, including ICC profiles\, monitor calibration\, and more!\nThis class is for anyone that has set up their printer and understands some of the basic concept of printing\, but is having issues producing consistent results\, or wants to go further in understanding how to achieve the best printing results! We love printing\, and we want to share that love of printing with you! You do not need to own a printer\, but it helps.
