Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nEach Printed Vision topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic and elaborate on editing with examples. There are many things to think about when we edit an image for printing in Black & White\, and this course will discuss those many items.\nIn this session\, we will discuss different paper options\, what to look for in the editing process\, and more. Our instructional online presentation will be held on June 8th from 7-8pm and we will reconvene for our Printed Image Review on June 24th from 7-9pm. DESCRIPTION:Recommended prerequisite: This class is solely on editing and processing your images in Lightroom. We recommend having understanding of how file organization in Lightroom works\, so we recommend our online File Management in Lightroom course prior to taking this class.  \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. How do we organize our photos? What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we will begin by discussing how to organize your images for quick retrieval via keywords\, ratings\, and more\, as well as giving a description on how to consider organizing your photos on your computer. Specifically\, we will cover brief computer file management\, the importance of keywords\, flagging and rating photos\, and searching metadata to find images. In Week 2\, we’ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We’ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 3\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to “finish” the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom! \nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now. This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as “Adobe Lightroom CC” (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different– This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nEach Printed Vision topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic and elaborate on editing with examples. This will include discussion of exposure\, dynamic range and color\, but also deeper points\, such as noise reduction\, image sharpening and grain. In between sessions 1 and 2\, attendees will independently process 1-2 images and submit them to the instructor for printing. We will print one of the two images leading into the second session and discuss some of the challenges we face in printing them.\nYou do not need to produce a new image for this class and can go into your archives to print\, but you are welcome to go out into the field and create something new based on the topic! \nThis Month’s Printed Vision Session: Comparing Paper Surfaces \nWhat does it look like on Matte Paper? What does it look like on Glossy Paper? Why would I print it on one versus the other? What does the paper bring to my image?\nIn this class\, we will help discuss the answers to these questions. In our instructional online presentation\, we’ll discuss some of the key differences between paper surfaces and present a variety of options for you to have your image printed. Half photo workshop\, half editing and printing\, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field\, how to effectively process photos\, and why printing is a necessity.\nWe will begin in our classroom with lighting setups and a variety of flowers\, which we will photograph over the course of the morning. We will transition from photographing to editing in the early afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to bring their computers–laptops or all-in-ones are fine (iMacs are welcome)–in order to do their own editing. Attendees should have Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop\, or a comparable program on their computer. We will be available to help with the processing of images during this time. We will then view these edits\, critique\, and discuss them with the rest of the class while also creating 13×19″ prints.\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating a photograph.
