While our normal walks are 3-5 hours\, our Postcard series are generally shorter (about 2 hours) and focused on photographing one subject. This one subject is generally that “Postcard Image”\, a unique and distinct looking photograph that everyone loves to have in their portfolio. These walks are excellent for beginners\, as you’re able to concentrate and fine-tune\, as well as intermediate photographers looking for a quick and fun walk. Less walking\, more photographing!\nOn this Postcard walk\, we will make our way to a rooftop on Beacon Hill and photograph throughout sunset and blue hour to fully appreciate this historic area of Boston.\nAttendees are encouraged to park at the Boston Common Parking Garage. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! This Photo Walk is one of the best opportunities to build your photographic knowledge\, no matter what level. We will cover exposure\, composition\, how to use macro lenses and extension tubes\, how to set up lighting\, how to use light modifiers and more! \nA macro lens is strongly recommended for this class.
