Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. \nWe will spend the morning photographing one of Boston’s oldest and most notable neighborhoods. In the morning light\, the North End is fabulous to take in and many wonderful street scenes can be found. We will discuss composition and Black & White and how it pertains to each street scene. We will then continue toward Old North Church to take in the architecture of the area. This is a walk that will challenge your abilities\, but will ultimately be a rewarding experience! \nCOVID-19 Policies for outdoor Hunt’s Photo Walks and Workshops\nFace masks are recommended\, but not required for our outdoor Photo Walks. We also ask that you maintain social distance whenever possible. \nAs always\, if you are sick or feeling unwell\, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a credit towards a future walk. \nThese guidelines will stay in place until further notice. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. DESCRIPTION:Saturday February 19th\, 9am-3pm • Hunt’s Photo\, Melrose \nLearn how to use your speedlight to create beautiful portraits \nRecommended Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of your camera\, interest in portraits \nInstructor: Paul Nelson & Rebecca Wade \nClass Size: Maximum 10 attendees \n                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                \nWorkshop Description\nSpeedlights are a powerful tool with such great possibilities that you can use on and off the camera. Unfortunately\, they can be a finicky tool\, difficult to understand.\nBut they don’t need to be! With a little bit of know-how\, you can create excellent portraits ANYWHERE using your speedlight!\nIn this Creating Portraits with Speedlights Session\, we’ll discuss\, demonstrate\, and then practice with models how to set up a great portrait anywhere using the simplest of tools and methods. In this workshop\, we will specifically be working with speedlights/flash off the camera using triggers.\nMost importantly\, attendees will be guiding the setup (and take down) of all the gear. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own gear\, but we will begin with gear that anyone can use\, including: \n-A Variety of brands of Speedlights\n-Off-Camera Triggers\n-Lightmeters\n-Softboxes\, Reflectors\, and other Diffusers \nLayout of the day: \n9am- Introductions\, brief presentation/discussion on exposure & speedlights\, camera setup\n10am- Begin creating setups\n10:30am- Demoing of setups (during this time\, we will photograph each other- Be Prepared!)\n11:30am- Brief Break\n12-3pm- Photographing with models. We will have about 3 hours in three setups.\n3pm- Takeaways from the day \nCOVID-19 Policies on Masks and Social Distancing\nUntil further notice\, we will be requiring masks for our indoor classes. Those lenses are recommended\n•You may choose a wider lens\, such as a 35mm or 50mm\, but be aware they will include more of the background\n•You are welcome to bring your own flash and light modifier (soft box\, etc).
