SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Olde Sturbridge Village ft. Christmas by Candlelight
DESCRIPTION:Walk Description\nLocated an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th-century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nFor the holiday season\, Olde Sturbridge Village will be featuring their annual Christmas by Candlelight. During this time\, the village is decorated and the people of Sturbridge recreate many of winter traditions\, not just from the holiday season. This is a unique and different look to Olde Sturbridge Village\, excellent for both those who have and have not been previously.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! This Photo Walk is one of the best opportunities to build your photographic knowledge\, no matter what level. This walk is equally as beneficial as a first walk or a twentieth walk\, as the area has so much to offer! Join us for a great experience!\nDuring the era of COVID\, all actors will be wearing masks. \nPlease note: The cost of your ticket INCLUDES the ticket entrance to Sturbridge Village. If you need to cancel\, please also note that we cannot refund the cost of the ticket\, which is $22. \nState Policies Regarding COVID-19\n•Every state in New England has different policies for COVID. SUMMARY:Online: Why Your Prints Stink- A Funny Look at Bad Printing
DESCRIPTION:True story: Last night\, I went to go print a few photos. I booted up my computer and printer and three ink cartridges were empty. I replaced them\, found the image I wanted to print and clicked “print”\, but then I accidentally turned off my printer while loading the paper. When it booted back up\, another ink cartridge needed to be replaced! When I finally was able to print the image\, the colors were all wrong\, the print was dark\, and there were smudges on the side. Why do I even bother?! \nWhat amazes me is that I work with printers and printing all the time\, and so if I have these kinds of frustrations\, I can only imagine how the rest of the world feels! In this class\, we’ll discuss why your prints can stink\, specifically what you could have done that was wrong and what you could do better\, whether it’s on your personal printer or from an online or in-store photo lab; the importance of color management; and understanding what is user error vs. just a bad photo! (Sorry!) We’ll also talk a bit about the positive aspects of printing and what we can do to achieve the best results possible! Come have some fun with me\, Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson\, as I tear apart these printers limb from limb…or whatever. \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \nWant to get this class after it’s been run?– We have an online store where you can purchase all our previously run classes here: https://ebay.huntsphoto.com/buy-previous-courses/ \n \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.
