On this walk\, we will emphasize landscape\, wildlife\, and macro photography\, all in the beautiful Winter\, as we encounter birds\, flowers and more! We will work on creative imagery\, utilizing the color of the season\, but also discuss black & white photography and techniques such as panning & zooming to create a dramatic and fine art effect. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend! \nHorn Pond is a wonderfully scenic area\, offering many outdoor activities such as hiking and bike riding. These same trails are an excellent place to explore many types of photographic opportunities\, emphasizing nature\, landscape\, and macro. On many of our walks\, the quality of day can positively or negatively affect how our images turn out. DESCRIPTION:Printing your photos will make you a better photographer. The first step to creating a great print is by understanding how to create a great photograph in the field.\nCapture-To-Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography\, but also editing and printing!  Half photo workshop\, half editing and printing\, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field\, how to effectively process photos\, and why printing is a necessity.\nOur process for this Capture to Print workshop will be a little different from our previous workshops. We will begin in our Melrose classroom with lighting setups and a variety of flowers\, which we will photograph over the course of the morning. We will transition from photographing to editing in the early afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to bring their computers–laptops or all-in-ones are fine (iMacs are welcome)–in order to do their own editing. Attendees should have Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop\, or a comparable program on their computer. We will be available to help with the processing of images during this time. We will then view these edits\, critique\, and discuss them with the rest of the class while also creating 13×19″ prints.\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating a photograph. Despite the limitations of darkness there is still great detail and color to be captured through your lenses. Our walk will take us through the Lovejoy Wharf area of the North End. Please make sure to read them prior to registering. \nWalk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a night photo walk along Memorial Drive featuring the Longfellow Bridge. During the walk\, we will discuss many of the aspects of photographing in low-light and at night\, including exposure\, focusing\, composition\, and more. Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nThe Longfellow Bridge\, sometimes referred to as the “salt and pepper bridge” due to the shaker-like shape of the bridge’s pillars\, connects Boston’s Beacon Hill district with Kendall Square in Cambridge. The bridge has stood for over a century\, with major upgrades and renovations only occurring in the early 2010s. In late 2018\, the bridge was enhanced with new LED lighting\, bringing stunning new views to this unique structure. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! On the walk\, we will discuss Architectural Photography\, Image Composition\, Long Exposures\, and Black and White Photography. This Photo Walk will offer a wide variety of shooting scenarios\, including plants and flowers with an emphasis on macro photography\, sculptures\, vintage cars\, and more. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nThe Heritage Museum and Gardens is “the largest public garden in Southern New England”\, with over 100 acres of beautifully kept grounds. In addition to the wide variety of trees\, shrubs\, flowers\, daylilies\, hostas\, herb\, and heather gardens\, the grounds also have historic indoor exhibits\, including one of classic cars and sculpture. Scituate Lighthouse sits along the rocky coast of the South Shore of Massachusetts. We will begin the morning by discussing settings\, composition\, and best techniques to capture the lighthouse in morning light. We will then work to create daytime long exposures using neutral density filters. Filters and a tripod are required for this walk. \nThis is a great opportunity to work on daytime long exposures by using Neutral Density filters and learning how to use a CPL filter properly. One of the city’s most notable neighborhoods\, and its oldest\, is the North End. Today\, this tightly knit area is known as “Little Italy” given the prominent Italian-American influence and population found here. Quaint eateries\, fine restaurants\, and historic locations are characteristics that make the North End one of Boston’s premier destinations. \nThis walk is also an excellent chance to work on street photography. During the first few hours\, our light will start to change\, giving us some excellent opportunities at casual portraits and street scenes. On this walk\, we will have numerous shooting opportunities from birds to flowers to landscapes and more! We may have a chance at some hummingbirds\, as well as other birds in the area\, and we will benefit from the flowers of the season. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend! \nHorn Pond is a wonderfully scenic area\, offering many outdoor activities such as hiking and bike riding. These same trails are an excellent place to explore many types of photographic opportunities\, emphasizing nature\, landscape\, and macro. On many of our walks\, the quality of day can positively or negatively affect how our images turn out. On this walk\, we will emphasize making the best out of any situation\, whether cloudy\, sunny or rainy (well\, not too rainy).
