For this series of walks\, we have chosen areas that are more spread out and with less foot traffic. We will also be limiting our group size to a maximum of 8 attendees with one instructor. After the course description (but before registration) will be guidelines for these walks. Please make sure to read them prior to registering. \nWalk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a night photo walk along Memorial Drive featuring the Longfellow Bridge. During the walk\, we will discuss many of the aspects of photographing in low-light and at night\, including exposure\, focusing\, composition\, and more. Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nThe Longfellow Bridge\, sometimes referred to as the “salt and pepper bridge” due to the shaker-like shape of the bridge’s pillars\, connects Boston’s Beacon Hill district with Kendall Square in Cambridge. The bridge has stood for over a century\, with major upgrades and renovations only occurring in the early 2010s. In late 2018\, the bridge was enhanced with new LED lighting\, bringing stunning new views to this unique structure. On this walk\, we will spend time photographing the Longfellow Bridge from numerous angles\, as well as areas along Memorial Drive\, making use of evening light\, civil twilight\, and night time. \nEmerging Series- A Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19\nAs the COVID lockdown ends and social restrictions begin to ease\, we have decided to start offering our popular Hunt’s Photo Walks again.\nHunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee\, student\, and customer\, first and foremost. During the walk\, we will discuss shooting in lower light with an emphasis on night photography. This will include assistance with exposure\, composition\, focusing\, use of tripods\, and a myriad of other settings and concepts! \nMuch of East Boston consists of dense residential neighborhoods\, in part as a carryover from the area’s heavy influx of immigration at the turn of the previous century\, and in part to its proximity to downtown Boston. Piers Park was developed in the mid-1990s as a contrast to this\, offering beautiful landscaping\, natural vegetation\, and stunning views of downtown Boston. Please make sure to read them prior to registering. \nWalk Description\nLocated an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! This Photo Walk is one of the best opportunities to build your photographic knowledge\, no matter what level. This walk is equally as beneficial as a first walk or a twentieth walk\, as the area has so much to offer! Join us for a great experience!\nDuring the era of COVID\, all actors will be wearing masks. \nPlease note: The cost of your ticket does not include entrance to Sturbridge Village. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nThe Heritage Museum and Gardens is “the largest public garden in Southern New England”\, with over 100 acres of beautifully kept grounds. Please make sure to read them prior to registering. \nWalk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk at Downtown Crossing in Boston. During the walk\, they will discuss Subject Development\, Image Composition\, Exposure\, Black and White Photography\, Low Light Photography\, and Architectural Photography.\nChinatown and Downtown Crossing (and areas in between) are two easily recognizable areas in downtown Boston. Boston’s Chinatown is quite small in size\, but has many unique sites and is the last remaining historic Chinese area in New England. Downtown Crossing is home to street vendors and a myriad number of shopping establishments with bright lights. Sandwiched in between is the Theater District of Boston. All three provide excellent opportunities to photograph the unique architecture and people of the area. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. \nEmerging Series- A Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19\nAs the COVID lockdown ends and social restrictions begin to ease\, we have decided to start offering our popular Hunt’s Photo Walks again.\nHunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee\, student\, and customer\, first and foremost. There are so many pieces to the puzzle of photography\, some of which use confusing terminology. For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the Priority Modes because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just a short-term solution. It’s important to fully understand the “why” and “how” of your camera settings\, and learning to master manual is an excellent way to do so.  \nIn this outdoor\, hands-on workshop\, you’ll learn how and why to control aperture\, shutter\, and ISO\, as well as how to get the right exposure in the field. We’ll spend the morning exploring different scenes and learning to balance the light by reading our meter and  covering the most important questions of all: what should I change and when?\nCastle Island is a terrific area with a variety of fine-details and interesting scenes that can lead to terrific photographs. The small\, but bustling area is home to Harvard University\, eclectic shops\, street scenes\, and commuters. This is a walk that will challenge your abilities\, but will ultimately be a rewarding experience! Please make sure to read them prior to registering. \n \n\n \n \nWalk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a walk in Boston’s burgeoning South Boston Waterfront. During the walk\, we will discuss many of the aspects of photographing in early morning light\, including exposure\, focusing\, composition\, and more. Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nThe South Boston Waterfront\, commonly referred to as the “Seaport District”\, is one of the fastest growing areas in Massachusetts. It holds the beautiful ICA Boston- Institute of Contemporary Art; the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center; one of the first modern “Innovation Districts”; the Harpoon Brewery and Taproom; and many hotels and nearly one hundred restaurants. It’s vibrant\, filled with people\, and truly fabulous to photograph. On this walk\, we will photograph at Fan Pier\, the ICA\, along the waterfront\, and more\, making use of morning light. If you have Neutral Density (ND) and/or Circular Polarizing (CPL) filters\, you are welcome to bring them\, as you’ll get some terrific shots with them during this time. \nEmerging Series- A Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19\nAs the COVID lockdown ends and social restrictions begin to ease\, we have decided to start offering our popular Hunt’s Photo Walks again.\nHunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee\, student\, and customer\, first and foremost. We also are committed to the best possible learning experience. We have put forth rules and guidelines for Photo Walks that occur during the era of COVID.\n•We will have no more than 6-8 attendees per Photo Walk with a single instructor\n•We ask that all attendees wear a mask. During the walk\, we will discuss shooting in lower light with an emphasis on night photography. This will include assistance with exposure\, composition\, focusing\, use of tripods\, and a myriad of other settings and concepts! \nMuch of East Boston consists of dense residential neighborhoods\, in part as a carryover from the area’s heavy influx of immigration at the turn of the previous century\, and in part to its proximity to downtown Boston. Piers Park was developed in the mid-1990s as a contrast to this\, offering beautiful landscaping\, natural vegetation\, and stunning views of downtown Boston. On this walk\, we will photograph the grounds of Piers Park and the skyline during blue hour\, sunset\, and civil twilight.
