On the walk\, we will discuss elements of sunrise and early morning photography\, including proper exposure\, image composition\, HDR\, Black & White Photography and more. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nNubble Light is a premiere destination for photographers. The Lighthouse is a simple beauty to behold\, with solid and simple colors that photograph well\, but under different lighting conditions can create vibrant\, striking images. We will photograph Nubble Light in this very light at sunrise\, then continue along to nearby York Beach. Both locations offer a wonderful history and tradition that lend well to storytelling through photography. \n\nIf you are attending this walk\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the walk. The ranchers are as rugged as the untouched land and the cigars are worth the trip alone.  Cuba is absolutely fascinating. \nHunt’s Photo and Don Toothaker want to welcome guest instructor Laura L. Gingerich to this photography workshop.  We plan to challenge you to slow down\, think\, observe\, anticipate and feel each and every shot. SUMMARY:Capture to Edit & Print: Macro in Black & White- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we workshop how to “see”\, effectively compose and create macro images\, and finally edit in black & white.  \nCapture to Edit & Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography\, but also on the process of editing\, this time specifically in black & white\, and printing.  We will begin by presenting some of things that we look for in the process of developing a black & white composition\, including such varied aspects from camera settings to choice of subject. We will spend a good deal of time creating and photographing compositions\, then move into the process of editing them in the classroom.  ***As an additional bonus\, we will also be creating one print a piece of something created during the day using Moab’s Fine Art papers. \nAttendees are encouraged to bring their computers–laptops or all-in-ones are fine (iMacs are welcome)–in order to do their own editing. Attendees should have Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop on their computer or a comparable program. We will be available to help with the processing of images during this time\, but we will also give live editing demonstrations. We will then view these edits\, critique\, and discuss them with the rest of the class.\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through a very unique\, but storied process: Black & White. \nApproximate schedule for the day:\n9am- Introductions\, discussion black & white composition\, settings\, etc\n10am- Photographing\n1pm- Short lunch break; quick cleanup of macro setups (Attendees are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch and take a short break during this time) At this time\, we will have a short discussion about the editing process in black & white\n2pm- Editing\n4pm- Review & critique\n5pm- End of day \n\nIf you are attending this workshop\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the workshop.
