We will then utilize lower light techniques and photograph during twilight for some spectacular portrait results!\nFor this section\, you are welcome to bring your own flashes and light modifiers (soft boxes\, etc)\, but you also can use what we have with us as well. SUMMARY:Online: Image Review/Critique- Black & White
DESCRIPTION:Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nThere is so much to think about in photography– from settings and composition to editing and post processing and so much more– that it can be easy to get lost within your images. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a chance to discuss one of your images in a review and critique session\, where we will discuss many of these topics and how they work in your image. Our Hunt’s Photo Education Team firmly believes that presenting personal work and observing peer work is paramount to the growth and development of your photographic vision. \nThis Week’s Topic\nFor this week’s topic\, all attendees will submit an edited image in black & white. This can either be an image that you have edited that you feel confident in or one in which you have edited and are looking to get a second opinion. We ask that you export the image as a DNG\, or save the RAW file with a XMP sidecar file so that we can reedit the image\, if need be. (If you’re unsure what a DNG file is\, watch this short video about exporting as DNG. If you cannot save the file in either formats\, please submit an edited and unedited version so we can reedit\, if need be.)\nThis is a great chance to look deeper into your images\, as we will really be looking into the specifics of what to set in the editing process and why. We encourage photographers of all levels to consider this course\, as it is as valuable to seasoned professional as it is to a beginner! \nThis class will be a small group of up to 10-15 attendees. Upon registering\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a link in order to upload images to us for the image review. We will also send out a reminder email a few days prior. Make sure to leave yourself enough time to upload your photo! \nRegarding uploading of images\nFor this critique\, we ask that you export a DNG from Lightroom/Capture One or save as the original RAW with the XMP sidecar file. DNG is a RAW format that also embeds in all the changes you have made previously to the image! Since it’s RAW\, we can still make “lossless” changes to the DNG file\, so that’s very helpful. We’ve made a short video about how to do it that you can watch here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ll87ah4kapx0zul/exporting-to-dng.mp4?dl=0 \nJoin us for this exciting opportunity to share your photographic work with the community! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nOur course layout is simple. This course will last about 2 hours\, depending on quantity of attendees. During that time\, all attendees will be muted. When we critique your image\, we will unmute you\, so please have a working microphone on your computer/tablet.\nDuring the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video. \nCan’t attend the class? \nIf you can’t attend the class but still want to download the video\, no problem: Just sign up for the class! You don’t need to attend and we will send the video and PDF link the next day! \nWant to get this class after it’s been run?\nIf you want to purchase this or any other of the classes we have done\, you can certainly do so. Just send us an email at classes@huntsphoto.com and we can send you the invoice. (We prefer having folks in our classes\, but this option is available as well if you want to see it!) \n \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Developing Technique- The North End at Night
DESCRIPTION:Walk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a Photo Workshop involving the historic North End of Boston. We will have a discussion and photo walk specifically about shooting in lower light with an emphasis on night photography. This will include assistance with exposure\, composition\, focusing\, use of tripods\, and a myriad of other settings and concepts. \nBoston is often referred to as a “city of neighborhoods”. One of the city’s most notable neighborhoods\, and its oldest\, is the North End. Beginning in the 1600s this is where immigrants to the New World entered the city for the first time\, which made the North End a busy\, vibrant center of activity. Today\, this tightly knit area is known as “Little Italy” given the prominent Italian-American influence and population found here. Quaint eateries\, fine restaurants\, and historic locations are characteristics that make the North End one of Boston’s premier destinations. \nThis workshop is also an excellent chance to work on street photography. During the first few hours\, our light will start to change\, giving us some excellent opportunities at casual portraits and street scenes. As we move into more of the nighttime light\, we will shift to long exposures. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: A Weekend at Olde Sturbridge Village
DESCRIPTION:Walk Description\nLocated an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Workshop and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! This Photo Walk is one of the best opportunities to build your photographic knowledge\, no matter what level. This walk is equally as beneficial as a first walk or a twentieth walk\, as the area has so much to offer!\nMost importantly\, because this is a multi-day workshop\, we will be able to spend more time working with our subject matter and discussing what works. \nWe will begin on Friday with an online presentation discussing Sturbridge Village. Because this is online\, you will not need to be in Sturbridge for this portion of the workshop. We will then meet the following morning at Sturbridge Village and work in the village for the day.\nIn the evening\, we will have an image review and critique to discuss photography from the day.\nThe next morning\, we will return to the Village to work further with our subjects. Join us for this great experience! \nNote: During the era of COVID\, all actors will be wearing masks. \nRegarding lodging We recommend staying overnight from Saturday to Sunday in the general area of Sturbridge. We have blocked a group of rooms at the Hampton Inn in Sturbridge (508-347-6466). The cost of your ticket does not include the cost of the lodging.\nPlease also note: The cost of your ticket does not include entrance to Sturbridge Village. COVID policies require that all tickets must be purchased online prior to arriving at the village. You can purchase tickets up to two weeks in advance here. \nEmerging Series- A Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19\nAs the COVID lockdown ends and social restrictions begin to ease\, we have decided to start offering our popular Hunt’s Photo Walks again.\nHunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee\, student\, and customer\, first and foremost. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Beach Art and Abstracts at Salisbury Beach
DESCRIPTION:Walk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a workshop that will emphasize creating art and abstracts at the Salisbury Beach Reservation. This is an excellent opportunity to try something different. However\, we strongly recommend you have a solid understanding of your camera. This isn’t only for advanced photographers\, but it’s really not meant for beginners.\nThe ocean is an ever changing stage for creativity. Sunrise\, the surf\, and the beach provide ample opportunities for creating interesting and abstract images. We will begin the morning working on Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) to create painterly images of the sea. Slower shutter speeds and moving the camera during the exposure will render the sand\, surf\, sea\, and sky in a very creative\, dramatic fashion. The results can be stunning. We will then move on to exploring the many and varied still life scenes etched or left in the sand by the tide. This promises to be a unique and creative day! \nState Policies Regarding COVID-19\n•Every state in New England has different policies for COVID.
