SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop & Image Review: Port of Galilee & Point Judith Lighthouse\, RI
DESCRIPTION:Featuring coastal scenes\, sunset and low light photography followed by an online image review \nRecommended prerequisite: Working knowledge of your camera We also recommend having some of the knowledge from our Beginner Photography class \nAll Skill Levels Welcome \nInstructor: Don Toothaker \nClass Size: Maximum 8 attendees \nWalk Description\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education on a late-afternoon/evening walk of the Port of Galilee & Point Judith Lighthouse\, followed by an online image review. On the walk\, we will discuss Exposure\, Subject Development\, Image Composition\, HDR\, Black & White Photography and more. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nThe Port of Galilee is a small fishing village located in Narragansett\, Rhode Island\, but this small village holds the largest fishing fleet in the entire state! We will begin the walk photographing in and around the port\, then move toward the Point Judith Lighthouse for sunset.\nAfter the workshop\, attendees will have the opportunity to review their images and make some edits. We will then reconvene online with an image review where we will discuss many of the factors that we discussed on the walk portion of the workshop. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to hone in on and develop your photography skills. \nRegister here\n***Having trouble registering? You can also register by clicking here!\n \nIf you are attending this workshop\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. A prime (low-aperture) lens will also be helpful. You are free to bring a telephoto zoom lens\, but remember to only carry what you need. SUMMARY:Online: Personal Vision Series- Celebrating Summer
DESCRIPTION:Recommended prerequisite: \nInstructor: Don Toothaker \nClass Size: Limited to 8 attendees \nBelow the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis week’s topic is Celebrating Summer. We will have an instructional online presentation during our first session and will reconvene for our Image Review during our second session. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment.\nYour personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. Join us for to help grow that voice! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. \nNo online classes should be shared and cannot be shared in a public environment\, including with camera clubs\nThe online content is the copyright of Hunt’s Photo Education and/or the Instructor. Please support our education team and instructors by not sharing this material! We appreciate your support\, and it’s thanks to that support that we are able to continue producing content! \nRegister here\n***Having trouble registering? In this multi-session workshop\, we will discuss basic posing techniques and how to position your subject’s hands and body\, and how to use angles\, perspective\, and depth of field to create a successful portrait. We will also discuss subject expression and how it relates to lighting! This will be a very fun and informative class!\nWe will have an introductory presentation on Tuesday August 17th at 7pm where we will discuss a number of these principles. Can’t attend this presentation or signing up late? We’ll send you a link in order to watch it on-demand. We will then meet on Sunday August 22nd at the Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover for the workshop. The Stevens-Coolidge place is a beautiful area for portraits and an excellent chance to learn posing. After the workshop\, attendees will be able to work with and digitally submit a handful of images for an online image review\, to be held the following week. During that image review\, we will be able to see others’ work\, discuss elements of subject positioning\, lighting\, composition and more\, and consider editing choices.\n\nThis workshop will also emphasize creating portraits using available light through subject placement and composition through the aid of diffusers and reflectors. We will begin photographing in the morning and use a variety of techniques to create successful portraits. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\n\n\nUpdated COVID-19 Policies for outdoor Hunt’s Photo Walks and Workshops\nHunt’s Photo Education is aligning with CDC and state guidelines and will no longer require face masks for our outdoor Photo Walks. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! This Photo Walk is one of the best opportunities to build your photographic knowledge\, no matter what level. This walk is equally as beneficial as a first walk or a twentieth walk\, as the area has so much to offer! \nAfter the workshop\, attendees will have the opportunity to review their images and make some edits. We will then reconvene online with an image review where we will discuss many of the factors that we discussed on the walk portion of the workshop. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to hone in on and develop your photography skills. \nJoin us for a great experience! \nPlease note: The cost of your ticket does not include entrance to Sturbridge Village. You can purchase tickets up to two weeks in advance here. \nUpdated COVID-19 Policies for outdoor Hunt’s Photo Walks and Workshops\nHunt’s Photo Education is aligning with CDC and state guidelines and will no longer require face masks for our outdoor Photo Walks. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask\, please feel free to do so. We also recommend bringing a mask\, just in case. We also ask that you maintain social distance of 6 feet from one another.\nHunt’s Photo Education will still adhere to our 8 person attendee maximum per Photo Walk with a single instructor (unless otherwise noted).\nAs always\, if you are sick or feeling unwell\, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a credit towards a future walk. \nRegister here\n***Having trouble registering? You can also register by

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Nifty Fifty Workshop: Beacon Hill
DESCRIPTION:Walk: Saturday\, August 28th\, 8-11am • Boston\, MA \nImage Review: Monday\, August 30th\, 7-9pm • Online! \n  \nWorking in the field with only a 50mm lens! \nFollowed by an image review & critique \nRecommended prerequisite: Working knowledge of your camera We also recommend having some of the knowledge from our Beginner Photography class \nMust have a 50mm lens \nAll Skill Levels Welcome \nInstructor: Don Toothaker \nSpecial guest from Sony\, Jon Helgason\, will be present with cameras and lenses to test out! \nClass Size: Maximum 8 attendees \nAbout the Nifty Fifty Workshops\nEvery photographer at one point or another has the internal struggle before going to photograph: What lenses should I bring with me today? The common answer is as many as I can without being too uncomfortable. And so we pack up our wide\, standard\, telephoto\, prime\, and macro lenses and head out into the field\, forcing ourselves to endure limitless choices while sacrificing simplicity.\nOur Nifty Fifty workshops flip the script and force you to only carry one lens: A 50mm lens\, nostalgically referred to as a “nifty fifty”. With limitations\, what can you– the photographer\, the creator\, the artist– achieve?\nThese workshops will start with our basic photo walk\, where we will meet in the field and work with only a 50mm lens in a specific location. Attendees will then submit a handful of images for an online image review\, to be held a few days later. During that image review\, we will be able to see others’ work\, discuss how to achieve different effects\, and consider editing choices. This is an excellent workshop for all photographers–from Beginner to Advanced–because it forces you to work in a different way. \nWalk Description\nFor this workshop\, we will be photographing in Beacon Hill. Remember- this is a “nifty fifty” workshop\, not a “mighty ninety” workshop.
