SUMMARY:Online: Basic Digital Printing (Printing with Lightroom)
DESCRIPTION:In response to COVID-19 and recommendations by the CDC of social distancing\, Hunt’s Photo Education is presenting our new series of online classes! (Hey! We wanted to do it anyway\, this just sped up the process!) These courses will be shorter (about 1 hour)\, online versions of many classes that we currently offer\, plus a few new ones\, and include Q&A at the end.\nBelow the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nThe time has come to tame digital printing! With the low price of excellent quality digital printers\, what was once an elite craft is now much more manageable for the average photographer. This course briefly covers the basics questions of printing\, including editing suggestions\, color management tools and settings\, paper styles and finishes\, printing recommendations\, and troubleshooting on how to avoid those nasty pitfalls that can occur along the way. Whether you use Canon\, Epson or HP\, the concepts in this course remain the same.\nThis class also focuses on printing using Lightroom specifically. Being able to print from Lightroom allows you to complete all of your tasks specifically in one rather than multiple programs. Even if you do not own or use Lightroom\, the concepts within this class are fairly global and these concepts can be translated to other programs. We will also discuss printing using these other programs. \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that you have signed up. About 24 hours prior to the class time\, we will send out an email with the weblink for you to follow as well as information on how to access the class online. (It’s pretty easy\, but we’ll walk you through it in a quick online video!) \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.

SUMMARY:Online: Lightroom v. Capture One- Comparing the Programs (Free!)
\nAdobe Lightroom Classic and Capture One are two major\, but very similar\, programs that allow you to organize\, edit\, process\, and export images. So\, which one do you go with? Well\, for years it’s been a fairly easy choice\, as the mighty Adobe reigns supreme over the editing world while Capture One has been a distant second. (And no\, we’re not including Adobe Photoshop in this comparison\, as it is a very different program.) Why is Capture One worth considering? Should one stick with just Lightroom? \nThis class is\, of course\, a Pandora’s box that we’re opening\, because it begs the question of all editing software. However\, these two top performing softwares are worth comparing for what the both have and do not have. We’ll spend the afternoon looking at a side-by-side comparison of the two programs and answer questions that attendees have about the two. \nCome find out what you need to know about Lightroom and Capture One\, and see where they stack up! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.

SUMMARY:Online: How to Use Speedlights on the Camera
DESCRIPTION:In response to COVID-19 and recommendations by the CDC of social distancing\, Hunt’s Photo Education is presenting our new series of online classes! (Hey! We wanted to do it anyway\, this just sped up the process!) These courses will be shorter (about 1 hour)\, online versions of many classes that we currently offer\, plus a few new ones\, and include Q&A at the end.\nBelow the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nDo you own a flash and have no idea how to use it\, other than sticking it on the camera\, turning it on\, and pressing the shutter? Do you want to take great photos at functions and family events that are in low light? And do you want to make it simple? If the answer to any of those questions is yes\, this speedlight course is for you!\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson as we discuss how to take pictures using a speedlight\, and make them look great\, no matter what the situation. We will begin with a short presentation with images discussing settings\, then dive into the modes\, settings\, light position and more on speedlights. (Yeah\, all speedlights are different\, but there are plenty of commonalities between them.) We’ll conclude by doing a short indoor demo photographing a subject. There is no better time than now to learn how to use your speedlight! \nA Quick Note on Flash vs. Speedlight\n“Flash” is a generic term for anything that flashes. Speedlights are specifically flash units that can be taken on or off the camera. This class will discuss “Speedlights”\, but not the on-board flash on your camera. In general\, we never recommend using those (unless you absolutely have to). SUMMARY:Online: Editing Essentials in Capture One
\nYou’ve taken a fantastic image and you understand the basics of editing in Capture One. So what’s the problem? Have we made it good enough? Have we made the right steps along the way? How can we make it better? This class is all about editing one of your images.\nLeading up to this class\, we will ask for 2-3 images (RAW\, if possible) from you in order to edit ONE of them in class. We will do this with each of our 6-8 attendees and in the end\, we will have discussed a whole slew of topics that will (hopefully) make you a better editor!\nWe are constantly asked: Who should take this class? What if you’re new to Capture One? Yes- because you’ll see the possibilities in the program! What if you don’t use Capture One? Sure! We will be using Capture One\, but the concepts are very similar throughout other similar programs. What if you just use a cell phone or shoot only in JPEG? I don’t see why not! Just because you shoot in JPEG or with a cell phone doesn’t mean you can’t edit your photos. This is a great all-encompassing class\, working out challenges for all levels!\nThis is a class that you can take as many times as you’d like. Since you’re constantly working with new images\, you’re always working out new challenges! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nAt that time\, we will also send you a link to upload 2-3 images.
