DESCRIPTION:Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nEveryone loves taking portraits in natural light\, especially when the circumstances are just right\, the overcast clouds have moved in\, the temperature is in the mid-70s\, all the hair and make-up has been done\, and the wild horses are galloping in the distance.\nOf course\, we’re being facetious- sometimes it can be that easy\, but not always. Sometimes\, it’s a great idea to use natural light for outdoor portraits. Sometimes\, we can find the perfect scenario lighting conditions\, but what if we can’t? Or what if we want to get a shot some place where the light is different?\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson as we discuss photographing portraits outdoors using both natural light and flash. We’ll begin by discussing what optimal conditions are for natural light portraits\, then add in the element of flash and when to use it\, and finish by specifically demonstrating how to set up your camera and flash\, off-camera! We’ll also discuss:\n•Diffusers and light modifiers\n•Where to place your lights (and your subject)\n•Different trigger options\n•Light meters\n•How to light for a variety of scenes \nIf you feel intimidated by using flash outdoors\, join us for a lot of fun! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic.
