DESCRIPTION:Monday April 26th\, 6:30-8:30pm • Online! \nRecommended prerequisite: \nWe will be discussing computer concepts\, along with editing in Lightroom/Capture One. Knowledge of these programs is not necessary\, but they will be referenced \nInstructor: Ray Levesque \nClass Level: Beyond Basic \nBelow the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run. \nWhat is Color Management? Why is it important to shoot RAW? Why (and How) do I need to calibrate my monitor? Why do images look different on different computers or devices? \nIf you want to know the answers to any of these questions\, we implore you to join us for our Intro to Color Management class\, where we will discuss the importance of all elements of color. We will discuss\, among other points: \n•A brief workflow of how to get the most accurate color\, from camera to print\n•The importance of monitor calibration\, including a live demo using Xrite i1 (Datacolor’s Spyder software is very similar\, and if you use it\, the differences here are minor)\n•The differences in color spaces and monitors\n•How to use the Xrite Colorchecker (and similar reference targets) \nColor management is an essential part of photography. Join us as we demystify the workflow! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes.
