To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nEach Printed Vision topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic and elaborate on editing with examples. This will include discussion of exposure\, dynamic range and color\, but also deeper points\, such as noise reduction\, image sharpening and grain. In between sessions 1 and 2\, attendees will independently process 1-2 images and submit them to the instructor for printing. We will print one of the two images leading into the second session and discuss some of the challenges we face in printing them.\nYou do not need to produce a new image for this class and can go into your archives to print\, but you are welcome to go out into the field and create something new based on the topic! \nThis Month’s Printed Vision Session: Printing Nightscapes\nNightscapes can be some of the most beautiful images when printed. They possess not only deep\, rich blacks that shine through on the paper\, but also high levels of contrast and can also present an incredible level of rich color. There’s a lot to be proud of when hanging a Nightscape on our wall!\nIn this session\, we will delve into printing nightscapes\, including different paper options\, what details to look for when choosing an image\, and elements of image processing. Specifically\, we’ll look at details such image sharpening\, noise reduction\, grain\, exposure\, and color management. Our instructional online presentation will be held on July 7th from 7-8pm and we will reconvene for our Printed Image Review on July 21st from 7-8:30pm. You will have that time period in between to photograph and/or edit your images. In the end\, you will receive a 12×18″ print on fine art paper.
