DESCRIPTION:Printing your photos will make you a better photographer. The first step to creating a great print is by understanding how to create a great photograph in the field.\nCapture-To-Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography\, but also editing and printing!  Half photo workshop\, half editing and printing\, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field\, how to effectively process photos\, and why printing is a necessity.\nOur process for this Capture to Print workshop will be a little different from our previous workshops. In this workshop\, we will discuss Subject Development\, Image Composition\, Macro Photography\, HDR\, Black and White Photography\, and Architectural Photography.\nThe industrial revolution changed our country\, and the world\, forever.  The Charles River Museum of Industry is currently housed in what is considered the first ever factory in America. In Waltham\, the closed factory now plays the role of housing a history of the tools and machinery used in industry. This walk is an excellent chance to photograph the grit of the previous centuries under the Industrial Revolution\, and is a chance to work in low-light environments where the lighting sources cannot be controlled and focus on macro photography.\nFor the bulk of the time\, we will explore the interior of the museum\, looking for images that tell the significant historic story they offer. Lighting can be intimidating\, whether using a speedlight on camera (or off) or a studio strobe. Our goal is to get each attendee more comfortable with the basics of lighting\, demonstrate how and why to set up lights in certain ways\, and how to create stunning portraits with these lights. \nIn the workshop\, we will create three basic setups with models at each location: Creative lighting portraits; corporate head shots; and full-length portraits. We will utilize both studio strobes and speedlights in order to get you comfortable with using both.  \nMost importantly\, attendees will be guiding the setup (and take down) of all the gear. This allows for more hands-on working with everything involved with studio lighting\, from the light to the light stand to the background.\nAttendees are encouraged to bring their own gear\, but we will begin with gear that anyone can use\, including: \n-Elinchrom Strobes\n-Speedlights (both brand–Nikon\, Canon\, Sony– and non-brand specific–Phottix\, etc.)\n-Phottix & Pocket Wizard Radio Triggers\n-Sekonic Lightmeters\n-Tethering capabilities for applicable cameras \nWhat to bring:\n-Camera with fully charged battery\n-Memory cards\n-For lenses\, consider bringing lenses between 50mm and 100mm.
