With the low price of excellent quality digital printers\, what was once an elite craft is now much more manageable for the average photographer. This course briefly covers the basics questions of printing\, including editing suggestions\, color management tools and settings\, paper styles and finishes\, printing recommendations\, and troubleshooting on how to avoid those nasty pitfalls that can occur along the way. Whether you use Canon\, Epson or HP\, the concepts in this course remain the same.\nThis class also focuses on printing using Lightroom specifically. Being able to print from Lightroom allows you to complete all of your tasks specifically in one rather than multiple programs. Even if you do not own or use Lightroom\, the concepts within this class are fairly global and these concepts can be translated to other programs. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a chance to discuss one of your images in a review and critique session\, where we will discuss many of these topics and how they work in your image. Our Hunt’s Photo Education Team firmly believes that presenting personal work and observing peer work is paramount to the growth and development of your photographic vision. \nThis Week’s Topic\nFor this week’s topic\, all attendees will submit an Edited Portrait. There are a number of moving parts to portraits. And often when we take portraits\, we tell ourselves\, “Don’t worry- we’ll fix it in post!”\nWell\, in this image review/critique\, we’ll look specifically at edited portraits. So\, what kind of portrait do we want? Well\, they can be really heavily edited photos\, or photos that have just been tweeked and fine-tuned! We’ll be looking at them from a few perspectives: How was the photo processed for exposure\, color\, and contrast? Was there additional processing that was needed\, or was the photo “overbaked”?\nFor this critique\, we ask that you export the image as a DNG\, or save the RAW file with a XMP sidecar file so that we can reedit the image\, if need be. (If you’re unsure what a DNG file is\, watch this short video about exporting as DNG. If you cannot save the file in either formats\, please submit an edited and unedited version so we can reedit\, if need be.) We can look at these images in either Lightroom\, Capture One\, or Adobe Photoshop.\nWe encourage photographers of all levels to consider this course\, as it is as valuable to seasoned professional as it is to a beginner! In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have 10-15 attendees and provide direct feedback on images. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a chance to discuss one of your images in a review and critique session\, where we will discuss many of these topics and how they work in your image. Our Hunt’s Photo Education Team firmly believes that presenting personal work and observing peer work is paramount to the growth and development of your photographic vision. \nThis Week’s Topic\nFor this week’s topic\, all attendees will submit a birding image. Birds\, birds in flight\, birding: It’s perhaps the apex of photographic technique and skill. It requires so much from the photographer\, including gear\, time\, and patience. It also requires a mastery of focus\, patience\, exposure\, patience\, composition\, and more. (Did we mention patience?) In this image review/critique\, we will focus (pun intended) on birding images\, with an emphasis on all of these elements. You are welcome to edit this image or leave it unedited. However\, we ask that you export the image as a DNG\, or save the RAW file with a XMP sidecar file so that we can reedit the image\, if need be. (If you’re unsure what a DNG file is\, watch this short video about exporting as DNG. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a chance to discuss one of your images in a review and critique session\, where we will discuss many of these topics and how they work in your image. Our Hunt’s Photo Education Team firmly believes that presenting personal work and observing peer work is paramount to the growth and development of your photographic vision. \nThis Week’s Topic\nFor this week’s topic\, all attendees will submit an image with an emphasis on composition. The statement “They have an eye for photography” is very common to hear\, and it means that all points lead to great composition. Focal length\, camera settings\, foreground/background elements\, and of course subject positioning are all integral to having a successful composition. In this image review/critique\, we will focus (pun intended) on looking at your image composition. You are welcome to edit the image you submit or leave it unedited. However\, we ask that you export the image as a DNG\, or save the RAW file with a XMP sidecar file so that we can reedit the image\, if need be. (If you’re unsure what a DNG file is\, watch this short video about exporting as DNG. If you cannot save the file in either formats\, please submit an edited and unedited version so we can reedit\, if need be.)\nWe encourage photographers of all levels to consider this course\, as it is as valuable to seasoned professional as it is to a beginner! \nThis class will be a small group of up to 10-15 attendees.
