SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Sunset & Night Sky at Pemaquid Point
DESCRIPTION:Join instructor Rick Berk for a photo walk at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol\, Maine. During the walk\, we will discuss Image Composition\, Long Exposure\, and methods of photographing the night sky.\nPemaquid Point Lighthouse is an idyllic scenario for both sunrises and sunsets. We recommend bringing at least one lens with an aperture of 2.8\, preferably wider angle.\nSunset is at 8:17pm\, and the Milky Way\, weather permitting\, will be visible by 9pm. \n \nIf you are attending this workshop\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the workshop. However\, be advised we will be meeting at Pemaquid Point in New Harbor\, Maine at the time listed. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Piers Park\, East Boston

This will include assistance with exposure\, composition\, focusing\, use of tripods\, and a myriad of other settings and concepts! \nMuch of East Boston consists of dense residential neighborhoods\, in part as a carryover from the area’s heavy influx of immigration at the turn of the previous century\, and in part to its proximity to downtown Boston. On this walk\, we will photograph the grounds of Piers Park and the skyline during blue hour\, sunset\, and civil twilight. Photographers of all levels are welcome! \n \n \nIf you are attending this walk\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the walk. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. SUMMARY:Personal Vision Shootout: Redcoats & Rebels at Olde Sturbridge Village
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a Personal Vision Shootout at Olde Sturbridge Village. This comprehensive walk is geared toward intermediate and advanced photographers. During the walk\, we will “strengthen your photographic muscles” by challenging you to work outside of your comfort zone while also developing cohesion in the photographic work you produce. \nLocated an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era. \nOur emphasis for the weekend will be on the OSV event Redcoats and Rebels. For the weekend\, Olde Sturbridge Village will be turned into a military camp from the Revolutionary Period. We will work to document the fine details of the uniforms\, the camps\, the personalities\, and the stories of this period of history. This will a complex task\, and as part of our Personal Vision Shootout\, we will have a working assignment as part of our visit for the day. This will be a fun and challenging day with many unique photographic possibilities! \nPlease note: the cost of your ticket includes the cost of your admission to Olde Sturbridge Village.

SUMMARY:Capture to Print\, ft. Roger Williams Park Zoo
DESCRIPTION:Capture-To-Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography\, but also editing and printing! Half photo workshop\, half editing and printing\, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field\, how to effectively process photos\, and why printing is a necessity.\nWe all want to take excellent quality photos of wild animals in their natural habitat\, but those habitats are not always easily accessible. And when in that situation\, do we have the ability to make those split second decisions on what to do with our camera? Zoos are an excellent opportunity to hone those skills with the real thing. Zoos also provide different challenges\, including fencing\, windows\, and more. If we can overcome those challenges\, the result can be stunning\, especially in print form!\nWe will begin at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence\, Rhode Island for a morning of photographing the animals\, specifically emphasizing how to set in the field for the best end result\, including focus\, exposure\, and more. At 1pm\, we will break from shooting and make our way back to the classroom at our Providence location. We will reconvene at 2pm. (Attendees are encouraged to get lunch in the meantime.)\nWe will then transition from photographing to editing\, which will include discussion of certain techniques. Attendees are encouraged to bring their computers–laptops or all-in-ones are fine (iMacs are welcome)–in order to do their own editing. Attendees should have Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop on their computer or a comparable program. We will be available to help with the processing of images during this time. Shortly after 4pm\, we will view these edits\, critique\, and discuss them with the rest of the class while also creating 13×19″ prints.\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating a photograph. The process of printing is integral to developing one’s photographic vision.\nPlease note: Your ticket does not include the entrance cost to Roger Williams Park Zoo. Your ticket includes the cost of instruction at the zoo and at Hunt’s Photo Providence\, as well as the print. \n \nApproximate schedule for the day:\n10am- Meet at Roger Williams Park Zoo and photograph the animals.\n1pm- Break for travel and lunch\n2pm- Reconvene at Hunt’s Photo\, Providence. Begin editing.\n4pm- Review\, critique\, and printing \n\nIf you are attending this workshop\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the workshop. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. This email will detail any of those minor changes. \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up. \nAttendees should have: \nDigital Camera and Lens\nMemory Card\nTripod/Monopod \nSuggested Items Attendees should have: \nVarious other lenses\nExtra memory cards\nExtra camera battery\nSnacks\nWater

SUMMARY:Capture to Print ft. the Lighthouses of Portland
DESCRIPTION:Capture-To-Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography\, but also editing and printing! Half photo workshop\, half editing and printing\, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field\, how to effectively process photos\, and why printing is a necessity. \nOn this version of Capture to Print\, we will have a late afternoon/sunset photo walk covering three of Portland\, Maine’s most photogenic lighthouses. We’ll start at Bug Light Park to photograph the beloved Portland Breakwater Lighthouse\, also known as Bug Light\, before we head a couple of blocks over to Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse\, on the campus of Southern Maine Community College. Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse is also the site of Fort Preble\, a military fort which was in use from 1802 to 1906. We’ll explore the many opportunities this location offers\, and then head another few miles west to Cape Elizabeth to capture the sunset at Portland Head Lighthouse. Portland Head is located on the grounds of Fort Williams Park\, an old military fort dating back to the Spanish American War. We will explore the grounds and various vantage points on the lighthouse\, and end up in one of the classic spots for sunset. \nThe next morning\, we will then transition from photographing to editing. Shortly after noon\, we will view these edits\, critique\, and discuss them with the rest of the class while also creating 12×18″ prints.\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating a photograph. The process of printing is integral to developing one’s photographic vision. \nApproximate schedule for the day:\nFriday\, 4pm- Meet at Bug Light Park. We will photograph there and the other two lighthouses for the evening.\nSaturday\, 8pm- End for the day\nSaturday 10am- Reconvene at Hunt’s Photo\, S. Portland. Begin editing.\n12pm- Review\, critique\, and printing. \n \nIf you are attending this walk\, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the walk. However\, be advised we will be meeting at Bug Light Park at the end of Madison Ave in Portland\, Maine at the time listed. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. This email will detail any of those minor changes. \nPlease read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up. \nAttendees should have: \nDigital Camera and Lens\nMemory Card\nTripod\nFlashlight \nSuggested Items Attendees should have: \nVarious other lenses\nExtra memory cards\nExtra camera battery\nSnacks\nWater
