Capture to Print: Flowers and Macro ft. the Stevens-Coolidge Place

May 18, 2019, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

$179.00

Printing your photos will make you a better photographer. The first step to creating a great print is by understanding how to create a great photograph in the field.
Capture-To-Print is an intermediate workshop that focuses not only on photography, but also editing and printing! Half photo workshop, half editing and printing, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print— to demonstrate what is important in the field, how to effectively process photos, and why printing is a necessity.
On this Capture to Print workshop, we will begin at the Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover, which has beautifully maintained grounds, a rose garden, and a greenhouse. During this time, we will photograph flowers, working to get the best quality images in preparation for editing and printing. After photographing, we will return to Hunt’s Photo in Melrose and transition to editing in the early afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to bring their computers–laptops or all-in-ones are fine (iMacs are welcome)–in order to do their own editing. Attendees should have Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop on their computer or a comparable program. We will be available to help with the processing of images during this time. We will then view these edits, critique, and discuss them with the rest of the class while also creating 13×19″ prints.
This will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating a photograph. The process of printing is integral to developing one’s photographic vision.

Approximate schedule for the day:
8am- Meet at Stevens-Coolidge in North Andover and photograph for the morning
11am- Wrap up photographing, separately break for lunch, return to Hunt’s Photo, Melrose for 1pm
1pm- Begin editing
3pm- Review, critique, and printing

If you are attending this workshop, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the workshop. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. This email will detail any of those minor changes.
If you have specific flowers that you would like to bring to photograph, you are welcome to bring them as well.

Please read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.
