Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run.
Kathleen is well known for creating painterly photographs, and she will share the various techniques she utilizes to create this effect in her photographs, both in camera and in post-processing. From selective focus to multiple exposure, intentional camera movement and textured backgrounds, you’ll learn the methods Kathleen uses to create this look. You’ll start seeing beyond the obvious and be inspired to try these techniques with your own photography.
About Kathleen: Kathleen Clemons is an award-winning photographer, teacher, speaker, author and workshop leader from the coast of Maine. Primarily a nature photographer who specializes in photographing flowers, Kathleen is known for her creative use of natural light and unique, artistic photographs.
Lensbaby has named her the “Georgia O’Keeffe of Lensbaby Flower Photography” and her work is represented world- wide by Getty Images and several other agencies.
Kathleen teaches online classes as well as many location workshops and seminars and is on the instructional staff of the Santa Fe Workshops and Gather Academy. She has also filmed instructional classes for Craftsy, CreativeLive, Lensbaby University and is the author of “All About Textures”.
With a background in education and a passion for both photography and teaching, Kathleen loves to teach others how to improve their photography skills and to see beyond the obvious. Her work can be seen at http://kathleenclemons.com
Registering and what is needed
After you register for this class, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.
Layout of the class
The class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–90 minutes to 2 hours– will be a presentation on the topic, followed by a short Q&A. During the class, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions, but if not, feel free to ask them at the end.
“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)
We will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included, we will send it out with the link for the video.
