Hunt’s Photo Walk: Learning Manual Mode in the Field – Castle Island, Boston

September 23, 2020, 7:00 am - 9:00 am

$79.99

This Walk is part of our Emerging Series, as we cautiously begin to emerge from the COVID-19 lockdown.
For this series of walks, we have chosen areas that are more spread out and with less foot traffic. We will also be limiting our group size to a maximum of 8 attendees with one instructor. After the course description (but before registration) will be guidelines for these walks. Please make sure to read them prior to registering.

Walk Description
Learning about photography can be a real challenge. There are so many pieces to the puzzle of photography, some of which use confusing terminology. For this reason, we often start newcomers off using the Priority Modes because it’s “easier”. In reality, these priority modes are just a short-term solution. It’s important to fully understand the “why” and “how” of your camera settings, and learning to master manual is an excellent way to do so.

In this outdoor, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how and why to control aperture, shutter, and ISO, as well as how to get the right exposure in the field. We’ll spend the morning exploring different scenes and learning to balance the light by reading our meter and covering the most important questions of all: what should I change and when?
Castle Island is a terrific area with a variety of fine-details and interesting scenes that can lead to terrific photographs. Join us to strengthen your photographic knowledge!

Emerging Series- A Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19
As the COVID lockdown ends and social restrictions begin to ease, we have decided to start offering our popular Hunt’s Photo Walks again.
Hunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee, student, and customer, first and foremost. We also are committed to the best possible learning experience. We have put forth rules and guidelines for Photo Walks that occur during the era of COVID.

•We ask that all attendees wear a mask. (Please make sure the mask covers your mouth and nose.)
•We ask that all attendees socially distance 6 feet from one another, unless you are attending with the other person
•Hunt’s Photo Educators will be unable to physically handle others’ cameras
•Consider bringing sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer
•If you are sick or feeling unwell, stay home! We will gladly give you credit towards a future walk!

These guidelines will stay in place until further notice. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at classes@huntsphoto.com.
