Christian Science Center – March 22nd – 12-5pm
Join instructor Don Toothaker on Sunday March 22nd for a photo walk of the beautiful Christian Science Center in Boston. During the walk, Don will discuss image composition, long-exposures, black and white, and architectural photography. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.
The Christian Science Center, located in Boston at the corner of Huntington Ave and Massachusetts Ave, is a 14-acre property full of stunning architectural and cultural detail. The walk will take you through the Romanesque style Original Church building, which was built in 1894. It includes frescoes, mosaic work, Italian marble floors, Canadian red birch pews, stained-glass windows depicting Bible stories. We’ll also visit the 1906 Byzantine-Renaissance style Church Extension with a soaring dome, seating for over 3,000 people, and one of the world’s largest Aeolian-Skinner pipe organs with a total of 13,384 pipes.
