Manchester has the history of being one of the key centers of industry and manufacturing in Northern New England (“the Manchester of America”). The past 200 years of city’s history is interwoven with Amoskeag Manufacturing and the millyards, located on the Merrimack River. While manufacturing in America has declined, the millyards in Manchester, as in many American towns, remain as a constant reminder of the city’s connection to industry.
This walk will begin at 1pm and will continue until and encompass (if available) sunset and civil twilight.
