Hunt’s Photo is honored to present Women with Vision: Our first online weekend photography conference, which will feature eight professional women photographers. Women with Vision is all about inspiration, creativity, knowledge, empowerment, and more!
The weekend will consist of online seminars featuring eight professional photographers (featured below) who will discuss a variety of photographic topics, from landscapes to macro, wildlife to lifestyle, and more! Hosted by Hunt’s Photo Education’s Emily Hojnowski, the weekend will also include a panel discussion that will very specifically answer issues that women face in the field and in the photo industry.
This photography conference is for women, but all are welcome to attend! The presentations will be so dynamic and multi-faceted that everyone will benefit from attending.

Colleen Miniuk – Keeping it Fresh: Get Reinspired:
No matter how long you’ve been practicing photography, inevitably photographers can occasionally feel stuck, uninspired, and even bored—which can be frustrating, especially when we are surrounded by so much beauty. Join outdoor photographer/writer Colleen Miniuk for this motivating presentation where she’ll share the notion of “flow” and how and when we experience it. Learn specific ways to balance growing as an artist with challenging ourselves to trigger new ideas, deepen your relationship with the landscape, and ultimately create more unique, more meaningful images.
About Colleen:
Colleen Miniuk first picked up a camera in 2001 as her software engineering project management job at Intel became more stress and unfulfilling. In 2007, she left Intel to pursue a more meaningful life as a full-time outdoor photographer, writer, publisher, instructor, and speaker. Since then, she’s had her work published in a variety of publications including National Geographic calendars, Arizona Highways, AAA Via, National Parks Traveler, and On Landscape. She has served three times as an Artist-in-Residence with Acadia National Park, after which she authored the award-winning guidebook, Photographing Acadia National Park. She’s also the author of Wild in Arizona: Photographing Arizona’s Wildflowers; Seeing the Light in Outdoor Photography instructional eBook; and the online photography advice column “Dear Bubbles.” She teaches photography workshops and women’s photography retreats (called “Sheography™”) across the United States for private clients, camera clubs, and outdoor organizations. Through all her work, she aims to encourage others to appreciate the Great Outdoors, to embrace individual curiosities, and to have confidence in authentically expressing themselves through life experiences. Izzy Edwards – Finding Owls and How I Photograph Them:
Join Izzy Edwards a 19-year-old wildlife photographer specializing in birds throughout the west coast. Learn about how to locate wild owls and Izzy’s unique approach to ethically photographing them in their natural habitat.
About Izzy:
Izzy Edwards is a 19-year-old wildlife photographer and conservationist based in Longbranch, Washington. She has devoted the past four years to photographing and understanding all 19 of America’s owl species. During this time she has volunteered with multiple conservation projects meeting biologists from around the country, she hopes to follow the path of conservation as a career.

Jamie Davidson – The Magic of Infrared
Interest in infrared photography has grown in recent years. There are many options for capturing images (filters, converted cameras) as well as for post processing. In this session Jamie will share information about infrared wavelengths and white balance, camera conversions, subjects that lend themselves to infrared image making and share post processing possibilities, including channel swaps, faux color and monochrome. In addition, she will provide tips and techniques for field work that will enable better results for final images. Throughout the session you’ll see how infrared photography opens up a new window of creativity when the light is less than ideal for color and how subjective and creative your final images can be. Jamie will share some of her experiences with infrared photography over the past twelve years and how it helped her grow in other areas of her photography. The creative possibilities are endless.
About Jamie:
Jamie Konarski Davidson is an award-winning freelance outdoor & nature photographer with a passion for capturing and sharing the intimate moments and beauty of the natural world on its own and as it blends with the “rest of the world.” Her images range from macro and abstracts to intimate, grand and rural landscapes. She connects with all things “old” and finds a special beauty in decay and fading cultural lifestyles that resonate a life of hard work. Jamie is enamored with flowers of all kinds. In fact, if someone told her she could only photograph one subject for the rest of her life, it would be flowers. Her interpretive style reflects that “love” of the blooms along with an intentional approach. Through her company, New Life Photos, Jamie leads photo workshops throughout the East Coast and teaches and presents at conferences and other events. Kristen Ryan- Stories in the Landscape: From Grand to Intimate
Within the landscape there are many captivating stories from the vast and grand to intimate and detailed. Embracing openness and curiosity, Mother Nature nature guides us to observe these stories and photograph them with our cameras. In this program, Kristen will share her approach to choosing a lens, from wide angle to telephoto, to tell the stories within the landscape and why a wide range of focal lengths encourages us to experience and capture the world more fully through our lens(es). Beyond lens choice, Kristen will discuss compositional elements that can help you to create more compelling landscape imagery.

Meg Loeks- The Art of Storytelling
Learn how to create a powerful narrative within your work with Meg Loeks. In this workshop Meg will cover everything from storytelling with light (both natural and artificial), color theory, creative composition, the importance of environment and more. Learn ways to draw inspiration through personal experiences and daily life, as well as art forms like illustrations, classic art, movies and music.
About Meg:
Meg lives in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with her husband and five children. She is a children’s fine art and portrait photographer whose nostalgic work centers around the home. In-between photographing her family, she teaches several online and in-person domestic and international workshops. Meg is a mentor through Click Community, instructor through Click Photo School, a SIGMA Ambassador, Lightroom Ambassador and Profoto Legend of Light. She is also a volunteer photographer for The Gold Hope Project, a nonprofit organization which gifts families battling pediatric cancer a free photo session.

Gerri Jones- The Power of Imagery to Push Creative Boundaries
This presentation will focus on how we choose to create stories with our imagery that resonate with your own personal photographic journey. Choosing to create photographs by always using a set of standard rules which seek perfection, can sometimes lead us to missed opportunities to make a “beautiful mess”. Gerri will discuss how choosing to shoot with the addition of all manual optics, such as Lensbabies and vintage lenses, has led her to a more creative path…a path which let’s go of perfection and pushes herself to challenge those creative boundaries for personal growth.
About Gerri:
Gerri enjoys photographing all subjects and especially the challenge of new ways to see through the creative use of Lensbaby lenses. She is a Lensbaby Ambassador. 
Gerri has been a featured speaker/instructor at regional camera conferences including Mike Moats Macro Conventions, Hazel Meredith’s Creative Photography Conferences, New England Camera Club Council (NECCC) Photo Conference and Out of Chicago Conferences. Gerri also instructs in creative photography presentations with camera clubs, in person or online. Gerri’s images have been featured in several publications including Nature’s Best Magazine, Erie Canal NY statewide calendars, commercial proposals and she also has reviewed several photography books for development by Focal Press Publications. Her images have received several first place awards in national, regional and online photo competitions. Gerri resides in Buffalo, New York.

Susan Magnano – Getting Creative with Light Painting Portraits
Join Susan Magnano as she shines her light to reveal her secrets to her Luminescent Portraits Series. She will review how to scout for the perfect light painting location, what gear you will need, how to make your own light painting tools and how to create different patterns and techniques. She will share with you her tricks and tips that will help build your artistic vision and inspire you to embrace the darkness and go out to create.
About Susan:
Susan Magnano is a photographer, an explorer and an educator who loves capturing the beauty of the people and places around her. After getting her start as a photojournalist, Susan transitioned her skill for capturing moments into shooting events and portraits. As an award-winning photographer with over 20 years of experience, Susan is a respected educator in the industry and now shares her innovative techniques and globally-cultivated perspective on her Photo Adventures. Photour Adventures was created out of Susan’s desire to share her passion for photography and travel through workshops and photowalks. She loves chasing the best light from sunrise to sunset and creates her own light into the night. Susan is a a renowned light painter and loves teaching her techniques and unique style that is featured in her Luminescent Portraits Series.

Emilie Talpin – Fun with Water Drops – The Art of Capturing Refraction
In this program, OM SYSTEM ambassador, Emilie Talpin will immerse you in the world of water drop photography, also known as refraction. If you are not familiar with this term, refraction is when the light passes from one medium and into another, affecting the direction of the light. In macro photography, the capture of a background subject into a foreground water drop is a good illustration of refraction. We will learn how to capture such images and go over the equipment needed as well as techniques and tips to make a successful photo.
About Emilie
Emilie Talpin is an OM-SYSTEM (Olympus) ambassador, who grew up in Chalon sur Saône, France, the birthplace of Nicéphore Niépce and the first photograph. Despite this background, she got into photography very late and in 2018 joined a local camera club where she met a group of talented photographers and was inspired to dive deeper into the art of capturing moments in time. Now, everywhere she goes, it is with her trusted OM-1 camera by her side. Lately, she has been concentrating on wildlife and macro photography, in particular water drop refraction, but will occasionally stray with friends to an astro or landscape photoshoot. As a French teacher, she is inherently eager to learn and try new material; a practice also applied outside the classroom as she explores the world around her and chases her next photo.
