Photo Classes, Walks & Workshops
Florida is considered by many to be a mecca of bird photography. In addition to the abundance of birdlife in the state, the birds are quite approachable and easy to photograph. We will explore some of the best bird photography locations in the state, including the famed Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. But in addition to this iconic bird photography location, there are several other lesser-known, nearby sites where the photography is simply spectacular. This trip will occur at a time of year when many birds will be in breeding plumage (and exhibiting some breeding behavior). You can expect to photograph a variety of species including; egrets, herons, ibis, terns, plovers, gallinules, oystercatchers, osprey, pelicans, wood storks, roseate spoonbills, ducks, black skimmers and much more. We will also photograph some of the beautiful landscapes in this area.
