Tucked into the far northeast corner of Maine is the fishing village of Lubec. Once a thriving fishing community, Lubec is now a quiet coastal town surrounded by the remnants of their fishing legacy and the rugged, sprawling Bold Coast. Lubec features West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, rustic fishing harbors, and many photographic opportunities along the coast. We will spend one day observing and photographing the rare Atlantic Puffin offshore on nearby Machias Seal Island.

Regarding Passports: We may go onto Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada, if conditions allow. However, at the current time, travel between the United States and Canada is restricted. Please ready your passports in case the ability comes available.

We will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects as well as incorporating classroom instruction, critiques, and photographic assignments each day.

•Boat trip to Machias Seal Island to photograph Puffins- only 15 Americans are allowed on the island per day!

Skill Sets: All Levels of Photographers are Welcome
Physical Activity: Low to Medium. We will have long days with sunrises and sunsets as well as a lot of walking.

Use of Filters (polarizers and ND)

The cost of this trip does not include the cost of lodging, transportation to and from Lubec, or meals during the trip.

Recommended gear:
Camera, memory cards, batteries
Wide angle, standard, macro and telephoto lenses (If you are looking for a lens to rent, you can rent it from us at rentals.huntsphoto.com!)
Tripod
Cable release
Polarizers and Neutral Density filters if you have them

Travel information
We will be meeting at the hotel at 3pm on the first day of the workshop. Transportation to and from Lubec, Maine and the hotel (including flights) is not included, but all on-site transportation once at the hotel is included.

We will be staying at the Inn on the Wharf, 69 Johnson St, Lubec ME, 207-733-4400. Please note: Your rooms are NOT included in the cost of your ticket, but we have rooms set aside. After booking with us, make sure to call to put your name on one of those rooms. We are listed as the “Hunt’s Photo Group”.

A Guideline for Photo Adventures during the era of COVID-19
Hunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee, student, and customer, first and foremost. We also are committed to the best possible learning experience. We have put forth rules and guidelines for Photo Walks and Adventures that occur during the era of COVID.
•We will have no more than 6-8 attendees per Photo Walk with a single instructor
•We ask that all attendees wear a mask. (Please make sure the mask covers your mouth and nose.)
•We ask that all attendees socially distance 6 feet from one another, unless you are attending with the other person
•Hunt’s Photo Educators will be unable to physically handle others’ cameras
•Consider bringing sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer
•At this time, COVID restrictions limit us from being able to ride together. We will all be taking separate vehicles to our locations.
