Hunt’s Photo Walk: An Evening in Amesbury

Walk Description
Join instructor Don Toothaker for a walk in Amesbury, MA. During the walk, we will discuss Subject Development, Image Composition, Exposure, and Architectural Photography. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome!

Amesbury is a small, industrial town located along the banks of the historic Merrimack River. Given its access to the water, many industries in the past boomed here, including boat building. On this walk, we will photograph the downtown area, including local falls in the town, at the end of the day.

A Guideline for Photo Walks during the era of COVID-19
Hunt’s Photo Education remains dedicated to the health and safety of every single attendee, student, and customer, first and foremost. We also are committed to the best possible learning experience. We have put forth rules and guidelines for Photo Walks that occur during the era of COVID.
•We will have no more than 6-8 attendees per Photo Walk with a single instructor
•We ask that all attendees wear a mask. (Please make sure the mask covers your mouth and nose.)
•We ask that all attendees socially distance 6 feet from one another, unless you are attending with the other person
•Hunt’s Photo Educators will be unable to physically handle others’ cameras
•Consider bringing sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer
•If you are sick or feeling unwell, stay home! We will gladly give you credit towards a future walk!

If you are attending this walk, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the walk. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. This email will detail any of those minor changes.

Dress and Gear

•Make sure to dress accordingly with the most current weather report.
•Consider bringing wide angle or standard zoom lenses.
•A prime lens (or even a macro) may also suit you well.
•You can bring a telephoto zoom lens, but be advised to bring only what you want to carry.
•Make sure to bring your tripod with a quick release plate and a shutter release, if you have one.
•Feel free to bring snacks and water, and a flashlight will likely help as well.
•Bring an extra camera battery and memory cards.
•As always, bring your enthusiasm and creative thoughts!
