Photo Classes, Walks & Workshops
Workshop: Saturday, July 24th, 4-8pm • Providence, RI
Specific location TBD
Image Review: Thursday July 29th, 6-8pm • Online!
Featuring portraits in natural light & flash!
Recommended prerequisite: Working knowledge of your camera
We also recommend having some of the knowledge from our Beginner Photography class
All Skill Levels Welcome
Instructors: Paul Nelson
Class Size: Maximum 8 attendees
Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be working in natural light and flash! We will emphasize creating portraits using available light through subject placement and composition through the aid of diffusers and reflectors. We will then separately demonstrate reasons to add in flash.
We will begin photographing mid-day in the sunlight (and shade) and work to sunset. We will then utilize lower light techniques and photograph during twilight for some spectacular portrait results!
You are welcome to bring your own flashes and light modifiers (soft boxes, etc), but you also can use what we have with us as well.
After the workshop, attendees will be able to work with and digitally submit a handful of images for an online image review, to be held the following week. During that image review, we will be able to see others’ work, discuss elements of subject positioning, lighting, composition and more, and consider editing choices.
Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.
Updated COVID-19 Policies for outdoor Hunt’s Photo Walks and Workshops
Hunt’s Photo Education is aligning with CDC and state guidelines and will no longer require face masks for our outdoor Photo Walks. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask, please feel free to do so. We also recommend bringing a mask, just in case. We also ask that you maintain social distance of 6 feet from one another.
In this workshop, our attendee maximum is higher, but we will have two instructors.
As always, if you are sick or feeling unwell, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a credit towards a future walk.
