Lighting with Speedlights: One-Light Portraits- Hunt’s Photo, S. Portland

Have a flash and want to get more out of it? Want to take great portraits, but don’t want to get bogged down figuring out how to use multiple lights? Join Hunt’s Photo’s Rick Berk for this fun and informative workshop where he will discuss basic flash settings, and then demonstrate how you can create stunning portraits using a single speedlight and some accessories. Rick will walk you through several one light portrait setups so that by the end of the class, you’ll know exactly how to get a studio portrait look using nothing more than one flash. We’ll show setups using the flash both on- and off-camera, and demonstrate the proper use of reflectors and other light modifiers so you can create portraits that truly capture your subject’s persona in the best light.

Make sure to bring your camera with a charged battery and a standard zoom or prime lens in the 50mm to 85mm range. If you own a Speedlight, feel free to bring it!
