Photo Classes, Walks & Workshops
In response to COVID-19 and recommendations by the CDC of social distancing, Hunt’s Photo Education is presenting our new series of online classes! (Hey! We wanted to do it anyway, this just sped up the process!) These courses will be shorter (about 1 hour), online versions of many classes that we currently offer, plus a few new ones, and include Q&A at the end.
Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run.
Do you own a flash and have no idea how to use it, other than sticking it on the camera, turning it on, and pressing the shutter? Do you want to take great photos at functions and family events that are in low light? And do you want to make it simple? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, this speedlight course is for you!
Join Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson as we discuss how to take pictures using a speedlight, and make them look great, no matter what the situation. We will begin with a short presentation with images discussing settings, then dive into the modes, settings, light position and more on speedlights. (Yeah, all speedlights are different, but there are plenty of commonalities between them.) We’ll conclude by doing a short indoor demo photographing a subject. There is no better time than now to learn how to use your speedlight!
A Quick Note on Flash vs. Speedlight
“Flash” is a generic term for anything that flashes. Speedlights are specifically flash units that can be taken on or off the camera. This class will discuss “Speedlights”, but not the on-board flash on your camera. In general, we never recommend using those (unless you absolutely have to).
Registering and what is needed
After you register for this class, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.
Layout of the class
The class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic, followed by a short Q&A. During the class, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions, but if not, feel free to ask them at the end.
Please read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.
