Online: Why Tether? A Primer for Why (and How) Photographers Tether Their Camera to the Computer

April 30, 2020, 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

Please note: We are slightly changing how attendees register for events. See details below course description!
What is Tethering? Tethering is all about being able to instantly see your newly taken photographic images on another device. Why is it important? Tethered photography can really open up amazing new ideas, different workflows and a fresh new style of photography for you. Have you ever wanted to be able to see the fine details of your image immediately after taking it? Have you ever wanted your client to easily see the image? Have you ever wanted more than one person to see an image instantly while working? These are just a few great examples of why you would shoot tethered.

Join Hunt’s Photo Education’s Paul Nelson and Tether Tools’ Liz Boettcher as they discuss the importance of tethering and how it can benefit your workflow, including a discussion of the various methods and programs available for tethering, and a live demo where we will work take some images while tethered to see how it all works! Tethering is fun and fascinating, and a terrific tool for the hobbyist and professional alike! Join us as we demystify tethering!

Layout of the class
The class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic, followed by a short Q&A. During the class, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions, but if not, feel free to ask them at the end.

“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)
We will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included, we will send it out with the link for the video.
