Long time no blog… Time to recap on a fun event from spring.
In April, I head out for the first time to Galveston Island, Texas to setup at their trade show as a dealer for gear and a sponsor of Feather Fest. Being my first time, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. My first walk into the hotel room and… it had bunkbeds – a little strange!
Feather Fest is a premier event for bird photographers at all levels and is a big draw. In addition to having an incredible location with a huge variety of local birds to watch and photograph, Feather Fest is a place for bird photographers to hangout, share tips with one another, attend seminars and classes – it’s everything you could possibly imagine to satisfy your birding curiosity! I’m not a bird photographer myself, but the enthusiasm was inspiring.
My good friend Kathy Adams Clark was in attendance as an instructor at Feather Fest. It was nice to have a familiar face to introduce me to all of the instructors. It was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone and meeting you all. I’d like to personally thank Kathy, Sean Fitzgerald, Larry Ditto, Tim Timmis, and Scott Buckel for introducing Hunt’s Photo to your students. We love supporting photographers at all levels and it was a pleasure to be involved.
The trade show, or rather, the Birder’s Bazaar was great. Being my first year sponsoring the event, there were tons of new people to meet. We will certainly be back next year to support the Birder’s Bazaar again with a full stock of supplies for Feather Fest!
After Feather Fest, Kathy Adams Clark took me to see some of the local attractions in Galveston. I enjoyed the day to say the least – all aboard! Please take a moment to subscribe to our blog on the top right of the page to keep up with all events and news from Hunt’s, as well as “Where in the World is Gary?”
