New England is ready for a really nice spring. I hear it when I speak to students who feel discouraged about not taking pictures. “I want to practice, but I’m just stuck in my house!” I can’t say I blame them. Just remember, daylight savings is a week away and spring is not far behind!
But there is hope, and our resident instructors are living proof! We’ve started expanding our Beginner Photography classes to South Portland, Hanover and Providence. In Melrose, Don Toothaker has pulled together three new Photo Walks—the Christian Science Center in Boston, Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, and a “Beyond the Basics” Photo Walk in the North End, which is a hybrid class-and-walk.
Scott Levine will be following up his lighting techniques with the Portrait Lighting Workshop in March and his simple-but-wonderful Lighting with Speedlights Workshop in April. (If you have a flash, this class really is worth your time!)
Finally, we will be welcoming back Rick Friedman, fresh off a trip to England, then South Portland (picture being proof that his classes are really fantastic!) to Melrose for a fantastic two-day weekend event in May—one day in Melrose and one day on location.
We’re looking forward to both a warmer month and a chance to see you in the shop to get your knowledge warmed up! Don’t fret- that knowledge will come in handy as soon as the warm weather arrives, which I promise is soon!
