Hunt’s Photo, Manchester & Wilton, NH
Saturday, June 30th • 10am-6pm
Recommended prerequisite: Basic Knowledge of your Camera
Instructor: Rick Berk and guest instructor Harper Hodges
All Skill Levels Welcome
Class Size: Limited to 12 attendees
In the age of film photography, filters were used to great effect. Because darkrooms were less accessible for editing (than editing in the digital age), filters were used to “get it right in camera”. Despite all the editing programs available today, it is still best to “get it right in camera”, and certain filters still produce vastly superior effects that cannot be achieved by post-processing alone.
Join Hunt’s Photo Educator and Benro Filters Master Rick Berk, and Harper Hodges for a hands-on landscape photography workshop designed to help attendees create better landscape images. We will start with a 3-hour classroom session explaining the different filter types and their uses, as well as examples of when and why to use them. Circular Polarizers, Neutral Density Filters, and ND Graduated Filters will all be covered. At 1pm we will have a 1-hour break. We will reconvene at Garwin Falls in Wilton, NH (about 30 minutes away) at 2pm to put into practice the filters and techniques. Filters and tripods will be on-hand, courtesy of Benro, for attendees to use in order to test the techniques discussed in the class.
If you are attending this walk, we will send out more specific instructions to you a few days prior to the walk. However, be advised we will be meeting at Hunt’s Photo, Manchester at the time listed. Please note: Some slight details above can be subject to change. This email will detail any of those minor changes.
