Macro Photography Conference 2014

At the end of October, I was on the scene of the first Macro Photography Conference, right here in Massachusetts! This time of the year is always so busy for me, but I couldn’t miss posting about such a great time.

macroconference 61Lou Nettelhorst, Mike Moats, and Myself. One day, I will be caught with my eyes open in a group photo… Isn’t there a setting for that?

The Macro Photography Conference, sponsored by Tamron and Hunt’s Photo, is the brainchild of my friend Mike Moats. The idea was to have a huge area for photographers to setup for macro shooting, all while having many instructors on hand to guide and support individuals in their quest for improving their macro technique. It turned out to be so popular, the event sold out all 100 slots in the first 20 days of registration being live!

The amount of instructors on hand for this event was impressive! Mike Moats, Tony Sweet, Kathleen Clemons, John Barclay, Lou Nettelhorst, David Akoubian, Hazel Meredith, Lisa & Tom Cuchara, Kim Mettler, Gerri Jones, and Linda Szabo were all on hand to assist with achieving macro perfection. A big thank you to all of the instructors at the event – this could not have happened without all of your help.

The level of participation and enthusiasm was fantastic.macroconference 32Also on hand for the event was Jillian Bell from Tamron’s Tech Team, lending out Tamron macro lenses to those looking for an instant upgrade. Jillian has an affinity for macro and nature photography and having her expertise on hand was very much appreciated – Thanks Jillian!macroconference 16Check out her ebook on Tamron’s website. During the conference, I had a table setup onsite with tons of macro specific photo gear, ready to go! Top sellers at the conference indefinitely were the Vanguard 263 AB w/ ballhead and the Promaster LED 120. Click either link to see what kind of pricing we had!macroconference 15

This had to be one of my favorite events all year. So many friends, new friends, and so much photography, all in one place! We plan on doing this again next year, but until then – happy holidays to all!KRP_5324group600
