Last weekend I went to Plum Island for the Phabulous Photography Weekend held by the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge in Rowley, Massachusetts. This event is the first of it’s kind for Parker River, and with everything that was going on throughout the weekend, it was a huge success with a lot of people really enjoying themselves. As with many events that Hunt’s sponsors, we had a trade show area setup with manufacturer reps on site to equip customers and maybe introduce them to a new piece of equipment. Tom Fama, owner and creator of BosStrap, was in attendance and the BosStrap was definitely the hottest selling item of the weekend. BosStrap is 100% sourced and produced within the United States and the company itself is based right out of Massachusetts; great company to support if you’re in the market for a new sling camera strap.
We’re extending the deal we had during the weekend to our blog readers, 10% off all BosStrap products! Also in attendance for manufacturer reps., Ray Nason from Mac Group, Niles Jensen from LowePro, and Bob Watts from Nikon. Always a pleasure gentlemen!Plum Island is a premiere location to do wildlife photography, especially birds. As part of the weekend activities, there was a birds of prey presentation and everyone was getting a great opportunity to shoot such a bird very close up.Ed Heaton did a great presentation on image design and capturing the light, pictured above between Ray and I. Ed is a master of landscape photography, and if you’re interested in landscape I strongly recommend checking out his workshops. Always great to catch up with Ed!Most popular event of the weekend had to be the hands on night photography workshop with Roman Kurywczak. The class sold out and everyone loved it! Check out his website to see any upcoming workshops or classes here.I would like to thank Matt Poole and all of the board members of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge for putting on such a great event. I hope to do another next year!
Until next time,
Gary
