All Skill Levels Welcome
Our Dynamic Portrait Lighting Bootcamp introduces lighting options with a focus on creative portraits. This is a simplified workshop–down and dirty– that doesn’t get too technical with explanations, lighting ratios, etc, but gets you behind the camera, comfortable with the lighting, and engaged with your subject. This is a hands-on workshop where all the gear (except your camera and lens) will be set up for you to start taking pictures with our models immediately. Where descriptions are needed, they will be provided, but consider this course an introduction to lighting a subject more creatively.
There will be separate setups provided with models at each station. This workshop is gear intensive. At one station we will be using basic flash units with radio triggers, at another, basic studio strobes. The purpose of using this gear- all gear- is to create expressive, dynamic portraits. Think of this an exploratory workshop that will allow you to test gear that you may not be familiar with under the guidance of experienced instructors.
This class will be taught by instructors Don Toothaker and Paul Nelson. We will also be joined by Ben Hutchinson of Lensbaby, who will be demonstrating how to effectively use Lensbabies for a unique look in your images.
Please read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.
We will be using the following gear:
-Canon and Nikon Strobes with Pocket Wizards and Phottix Radio Triggers
-Phottix & Lastolite soft boxes
–Bowens studio strobes
If you have a request to use specific gear, please let us know. We would be glad to add it into our repertoire.
