Friday November 6th
10-11am: Lighting Basics Made Simple : In this seminar, Hunt’s lighting specialist Scott Levine will introduce basic concepts of lighting. Scott will discuss the different types of light and what lighting solutions are best in different situations, along with tips on how to control those lights with easy to use modifiers. Sponsored by Lastolite.
11am-12pm: Chasing Light- Choosing the Right Lenses with Sigma : Join Sigma Tech Rep Marc Farb for an informative Digital 101, Sigma style. Learn about our lineup of lenses and how to control shooting better images in all situations. Get a better understanding of Aperture priority, Shutter priority, Bokeh, ISO. Learn how focal length/field of view and composition can impact an image and turn it from a snap shot to professional looking image. Take advantage of Marc’s knowledge and select the right lens(es) for your shooting needs and also get the real story on how to get the best use out of a tele-converter and what lenses they actually add benefit to.
12-1pm: Macro Photography:
Join Tamron’s Armando Flores for this seminar designed to advance your macro/close up photography techniques. Your instructor will demonstrate techniques for amazing macro images.
1-2pm: Nikon Tips and Tricks: This will appeal to ALL levels of DSLR users and Alex will show you some of the cool tips and tricks buried in the menus of your DSLR. A “must attend” for all who wish to get the most out of their camera. .
2-3pm: Techniques of Shooting Water : Ok, so it’s raining outside and your bored. That’s one of the prime times to take you camera out and scout the streets for raindrops, reflections, ghostly-fog and dazzling Fall colorful leaves against a wet background. You can also drop some “things” in a tank of water and capture some spectacular patterns. Come to this seminar and learn the basic techniques of Water Photography and equipment needed to get started. It’s easier then you think!
3-4pm: Travel Photography: Join Olympus tech rep Brian Rycyk for this seminar that will cover the basics of travel photography. Brian will cover the equipment to travel with, basic photo tips, 8 different travel subject scenarios, and the advantage of using the Olympus OMD system of cameras.

5-6pm: Don Toothaker: Photograph What You Feel : As photographers we are visual storytellers. Our most successful images are those that invoke an emotional response from an audience. But, first, we must invoke emotion in ourselves to stimulate the creative process. Following sound fundamentals and good technique are essential, but the most important element of your photography is “you”. Through text, images, and discussion Don will offer insight and suggestions on how to improve your photography and bring your creative expression to life.
6-7pm: Moving to Mirrorless with Shiv Verma: Mirrorless cameras are a rapidly growing category and Panasonic currently has the most enticing and popular cameras available. They are light, compact and come with a full compliment of lenses from 14mm to 600 mm equivalent lenses. Their exceptional photo and video quality makes them very compelling. Though much more compact than a comparable DSLR, they retain the manual control scheme that appeals to the advanced user. In this program we will look at some of the pros and cons. We will learn how to set up the various Panasonic Lumix mirrorless system features and get some tips on using these cameras to the best of their capability. This is also an opportunity to learn hybrid photography capturing stills from 4K video. See how Panasonic Lumix mirrorless cameras can change your photography and spark your creativity. Suitable for all skill levels of photographers.
Saturday November 7th
10-11am: Keeping Portraits Simple: Join Hunt’s lighting specialist Scott Levine as he discusses how to effectively shoot a dynamic portrait with just one on-camera flash. By using basic tools and technique, you can achieve beautiful, visually impactful photographs. Scott employs a “keep it simple” technique that will benefit the practical photographer.
11am-12pm: Choosing the Right Digital Camera: NOT A SALES PITCH! Forget about what you read online or what you brother’s friend who is a Professional Photographer told you. Find out the REAL DEAL about all these cameras on the market. Learn the differences between a DSLR, Point & Shoot, Bridge Camera, Mirrorless or Compact System Camera even Cell Phone Cameras. You will learn about Sensor sizes, MegaPixels, zoom ratios, lens aperture, camera construction and hear about brands like Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus, Leica, Panasonic and more. Questions are encouraged so write them down and bring them in! Presented by Barry Dennis from Hunt’s.
12-1pm: Getting Better Images in Sports Photography with Sigma: Join Sigma tech rep Marc Farb and learn some of the techniques to getting better images for fast action sports. Marc will also discuss differentiating lens selection choices to making more impactful images.
1-2pm: Handheld Low-Light Photography: It can be very difficult to obtain high quality images when photographing handheld in low light situations. These situations tend to wreck havoc on sharpness, dynamic range, and image quality. Over the past few years, Sony has been at the forefront of developing cameras that maximize quality in these settings. Come learn about the basics of handheld low light photography, and how Sony’s line excels in these situations.
2-3pm: Street Photography: This seminar will cover the basics of street photography and how to capture those chance encounters and random accidents within public places, equipment to use, shooting tips and the advantage of using the Olympus OMD system cameras.
3-4pm: Meet the new Canon EOS Rebels- The Next Generations Rebel: Learn about the new features in the latest Rebel class cameras, including the new technologies from the advanced autofocus, high speed shooting and convenient, easy to share WIFI. 12-1pm: A Year in the Life of a Nikon Professional Services Tech Rep: Presented by JC Carey, NPS. See the events and exciting levels of involvement that an NPS Tech rep is part of. From Professional Sporting events, to Press Corp involvement to the Eddie Adams Workshop and to helping Pro Photogs get the most out of their gear. They can do it all. This is Nikon’s Elite Tech Rep crew that has been a part of Nikon for almost 40 years. It’s Nikon’s way of supporting the working professional photographers of the world, a very interesting and exciting job!
1-2pm: Kids Sports Photography: Your instructor, Tamron’s Armando Flores, will address topics such as composition, correct exposure and lighting, understanding which lens to use for your sports, as well as many more topics to help you better photograph your children while they are playing their favorite sport!
2-3pm: A to Z Photo Shooting Tips: There are tips and then there are more tips! In this seminar you get an alphabet soup full of them. We offer some shooting tips and ideas to help improve your skills and to jump-start your creativity. Come and have a cup of coffee and see how looking at a “photographic definition” of the alphabet can help piece together the creative vision, vocabulary and techniques for better images.
